As you demonstrated, with the wings folded, and the main center lamp shut off, it provides indirect light by shining light on the ceiling. I think that's a nice feature. The clamp didn't seem positioned all the way flush to the desk in back. Was there something under the edge of the desk blocking it?

Many new cars no longer have cigarette lighters, but most older cars do. I usually just tap into those wires. They also make ports that can be swapped out in place if you just want to take out the old lighter and put repurpose the space without making new holes. I've done that on a couple older vehicles.

hey i got the camera to work, but i have to go to the HD2 Streaming App on Android Auto to get it to work. how do i get it to automatically show up when i put it into reverse when i’m on carplay? (i have it hooked to the reverse light but it only shows it losing signal in the app once i take it out of reverse)

How quick can you move that set-up if you need to bail out ASAP?

I'm buying a GR Corolla but this was helpful. On the GR Corolla, the battery is in the trunk, so you lose a little height, but space looks good enough.

I like the RAV4 Prime more because- roomier interior, quicker 0-60, bigger cargo area, regular gas, less expensive to maintain, more fuel efficient, better sportier look, physical buttons, spare tire and also have heads up display. But the inside of the Lexus have better seats.

Nice review. It's a great car. Had the NX 450h+ Takumi with ML sound for 4 months, 3,500 miles (preferred to F Sport). Getting 53 miles EV in town and 44 on the motorway (at approx 65 mph). Charges in 2.5 hrs on the UK's 240v, 30A supply. EV alone is powerful and picks up like an EV instead of BMW's X3 30e where the electric motor goes through the gearbox. It's worth understanding how the car operates the eCVT by controlling the revs for maximum efficiency. Once you have that, it's easy to ignore the 'rubberbanding drone' which is very quiet on the Takumi. It's more like a turbine coming on and there's very little noise or vibration when the ICE kicks in. Ride quality is first class. The tech is very good. Only little niggles - wireless charging doesn't work well and brakes make a small clunk when coming to a complete stop and just as you start. And a 10 year warranty if you keep it serviced with Lexus! Outstanding.

I did this into my mazda3 2018. The installation was pretty easy. The problem I have is the entertainment function is now disabled and there is no FM radio into the android box. Any idea on how to enable the entertainment function and I have access to the Mazda FM feature?

If you have that light next to it it's not going to work properly and attracts by the light so You need to shut off the light next to it

No. 1: Don't use a power drill for screws into flimsy plastic. No. 2: Without the proper circuitry to drop the voltage (despite what the ad may state) you may be pushing 12 volts into your phone that can only accept 5v. Will it charge fast, likely so with lots of heat and at worst, fry your phone. Beware just because it looks correct, doesn't mean it presents the proper amperage and voltage. No. 3: Secure the wires better. No. 4: If you smell something hot-burning you know where to look. No. 5: Better to install much higher quality ports to safe guard your devices. No. 6: Alternative is to install 12v cigar female port and purchase a high quality name brand adapter to USB for proper charging characteristics. Don't ruin a high priced phone or other device because there was a cheap solution that looks good.

Don't want to be that guy but that was a crappy installation. at least with the wiring. The cabling just hanging there in front of that small 5" sub will vibrate against the outer suspension ring and will rub into the speaker and damage it. I would advise to at least wire the cabling though a place that can be secured down

You could also get a wall plug and connect straight from there just make sure the wall plug is 24 V if you don’t have the c wire

Awesome video! I'm going to be doing this this week. I do have a question, do you know how long you could run that power inverter with the vehicle off and not have to worry about your battery being dead? Just looking for a ballpark time frame. Like 30 mins or hours?

Just did this in my daily work car and it took about 30-35 minutes total by using the method where you drill out the tabs. I watched this video to see how you routed the cables. Nice job!

Great video, very informative, I have the same unit and did exactly what you did but the rear camera doesn’t work, I have power going all the way to the connection at the back of the stereo but I have no video on the screen, I tried finding something on the screen to program the video but nothing, did you have any issues with this? Can you advise? Thanks
