How in the sixth level of Dante's hell am I only the 204th subscriber to this lovely queen Sam Sanders's KZbin channel? (Initially, when I read that county, I thought it stated that I was the 204,000 subscriber, not 204). My first hit on the Sam Sanders experience was with the 2024 'Mr. Unapologistic Authenticity' Joel Kim Booster interview, followed by this "Mr. Pop Culture so Stand Back" Matt Rogers interview, which I sill have playing in the background as I type this. But, as I have adored both JKBooster and MRogers long before the Fire Island film and Las Culturistas respectfully, and I mean truly "adored" them both, my eyebrow raised and jaw dropped as I discovered the intelligence, interview skills, listening expertise, and overall glamour in the moment, that produces a video recording of a spectacular interview of amazing guests that can hold their own in any situation. Most interviewers cannot handle the fire brought by the likes of Joel Kim Booster and Matt Rogers, but this breath of fresh air newcomer Sam Sanders, who, my apologies for my ignorance, may not actually be a 'newcomer,' brings a new perspective to the art of interview, beyond his "Inside Six Philodendrons" that I personally have not seen since the days of Andy Milonakis (respect to that unappreciated genius as well). Ms. Sanders knows how to balance the active listening cues with the amount of his own personal conjecture that allows his subjects to shine in their best light. Moreover, Ms. Sanders has a good heart, asks unique questions with good intentions, and seems to always "get the joke" which is a rare commodity in the world these days. I especially enjoy how Ms. Sanders elicits additional Truth by the simple two-word response, "Say more," which in my opinion and brief 'note,' would be a GREAT name/title for an network or streaming platform interview show -- 'SAY MORE with Sam Sanders.' I gift this show title idea to Sam Sanders free of charge. (Just introduce me to JKB or MR in some Chelsea bar on a Wednesday.) Notwithstanding, with this comment I wish to send Sam Sanders mad respect for continued success and future achievements in a incredible difficult and heartless industry -- stay 'you' and don't change. I think that this Sam Sanders knows who she is and is "on the track," so fasten your seatbelt and hold on tight. Sam Sanders is one to watch. ("Wait! What's that? A shooting star? A unicorn?"
