Thanks for the info man. Been sitting here thinking about how to shade a tank that I’ve just built and I think you have shown me the way. Also that was way too nice a paint job to receive that treatment. I swear I could hear actual pain in your voice as you applied that grime. Good thoughts to you and your loved ones.

I'm a big fan of pre-made basing materials like this. If you put the basing on before you glue down the model, what technique do you later use for attaching the model to the finished base?
@WarpGateStudios2 ай бұрын
I don’t normally do pre-made bases otherwise it’s a case of pinning and gluing and can be more of a pain! Attach the model to the base and then apply the basing material after and it looks great!

Brilliant video Sam just one question do you need to varnish the model before?
@WarpGateStudios3 ай бұрын
Hey bud! Dependent on what type of paint you used on the model underneath you may want to give it a coat of Matt varnish as some paints don’t like enamel washes. Thanks for the comment dude!

About the bubbles maybe there's a knack to tipping it first so all the air is away from.the nozzle. I'm hoping so cos I just bought some. 😂

@@WarpGateStudiosI saw Vince venturella use a pipet, don't think he went past 3/4 of the pipet. Just kept filling it up. He deffo talked about the bubbles being a big problem. He used silica balls after the fact to simulate bubbles... Maybe put Ur finger on the end and tip upside down and shake the air to the top. 🤔 I'm just building up the bases at the moment. But doing a whole nighthaunt army trying different things as I go. Looking good anyway. Cheers for the vid.

Can't you just use any non absorbent surface to do this? Seems a bit excessive to spend 30-40 bucks on a texture palette
@WarpGateStudios7 ай бұрын
I think mine go for $25 which includes postage but you can find others out there a lot cheaper that 30/40. The mdf has enough grit in it to help the process. I have tried Resin and Plastic texture palettes and they do offer different experiences. But sure anything that doesn't absorb the moisture would work. :)
