I'm a guy, and all dogs and even wolf dogs that I've met immediately take to me.. over my girlfriend who loves dogs as well... That said, I know I adjust my body language to be non-threatening and I'm never afraid... I crouch low, give them a side profile as opposed to facing my shoulders straight at them, left them come to me, etc...

I’ve owned a Labrador Retriever, Greyhound, and Dachshunds. 3 years ago my daughter surprised me with a Dutch Shepherd puppy. At the time I didn’t want another dog, but I kept her. Boy oh boy am I happy I did! She is an exceptional dog….super smart, sensitive, athletic, adores affection and people who pay attention to her, quirky (but she’s an Aquarius too 😅), loving, not an excessive barker, looks intimidating but is actually a big baby who loves belly rubs, and is my very best friend on this planet. I sleep with her and I’ve never slept with any of my other dogs. The bond with her is indescribable. My Lab was also very smart and super friendly but he never really matured 😂 and he was a puppy at heart until we had to put him down at age 14. My Dutchie is almost 4 and she is fairly mature and has been for some time. Lab was a big goofy friendly dog who loved everyone and everything 🤎 Dutchie is friendly and seeks out affection from people but is cautious around people she isn’t used to (she is afraid of small children and African American people). My Lab would not have discriminated like that. Dutchie is friendly to a point. P.S. Greyhound was not the brightest dog. A sweetie for sure. Neurotic. Anxious. Loving. Friendly. Did I mention anxious? Dachshunds are my soul dogs. I lost my sweet Mya who was 17 years old this past February. She was my buddy/bestie/companion. She was spunky, loving, smart, athletic, had a zest for life, and we were inseparable. I miss her terribly.

I remember my uncle have a big kangal which frightened me really. He had another dog who would bark at me because i was a stranger to him but the kangal pushed him to make him go quiet 😅.

I take my Shiba Inu to the nursing home also. Nobu loves to go he is so patient. I love him so much. This dog got me through the worse of my life. ❤
