i honestly love your reviews as we have the same ball speed and revs. however, i'm just a bit bothered by the offset tilt of your camera. the angle is perfect, it's just tilted though.

would effect tour be considered a middle of the bag benchmark type of ball or first out the bag strong asym type of ball?

I see it as somewhere in between. It’s definitely a step below stuff like the Mesmerize or Ion Max, but is also a step above stuff like an IQ Tour or Scorpion Low Flare. While it can handle angle pretty okay I’d keep surface on it and bring it out earlier in the day so you can keep it in front of you.

I think they’d work well together. I’d put the Mania after the EfT once you can’t be in those straighter angles

Have you heard that the Radical No Doubt has a very similar core to the Zen? One of my teammates has one, and he also has an original Zen and a Zen solid. He’s also throwing the Radical with some success too.

My personal opinion is that they should pay SPI back for the whole crux thing because the no doubt core is identical to the Meditate core in the Zens.

I play a lot on light oil. Do you think this will do well if I hit it with a 3K surface, or just wait until it lane shine?

It depends on the layout, but I would say hit it with 3k, with how strong the cover is it really wants to hook sooner and finish really strong because of the core, honestly unless you have decent ball speed, I wouldn’t recommend it on light oil.

@ Thanks for the input. My ball speed is 15mph. I bowl with no thumb, so I’m assuming that my rev rate is high enough. Is that speed good enough for this ball on light oil? Also, will smoothening it out to 3K and let it lane shine ultimately have the same smoothness as leaving the factory surface on and let it lane shine?

Both balls in the giveaway are good. I own both, Big Time SE and Archetype Hybrid. I recently drilled both. The Archetype Hybrid gave me a 193 on the second game with it, being the first game I have ever thrown where I didn't leave a pin in all ten frames: 8/ 9/ 9/ 8/ X 9/ X 8/ 8/ 9/ X. I didn't use a spare, just the Archetype Hybrid. The first game was a 187. The Big Time SE first game was a 174. Being a new bowler, just this year, I don't think those are too bad. I've gotten several games over 200, but not with these yet. There are several overseas balls that I wish would come to the States.

Thanks for this video! I'm starting to get back into bowling and I wanted to get two new balls to add to/replace my 10+ year old Freakin Frantic and Track 400A SE. Was wondering if I should get either this ball or the Hy-road and then the 900Global Eternity Pearl for my high performance ball.

If you can find an eternity pearl it’s not a bad ball, but it is discontinued and harder to find. If you liked the Freakin Frantic, I’d suggest the new Road Warrior as the specs are almost on top of each other.

@@osimaballreviews Theorom hybrid has much better shape than the pearl, IMO. If I could do redo it, I'd get the Ebonite Real Time. That ball is gonna be a sleeper. So far so good in reviews for it.

This ball looks really good. Radical makes some great stuff, and I still throw the Pandemonium Pearl, as well as the Rave, and the Intel Pearl. I prefer symmetrical pearls, and compound. And HK22 is awesome.

I definitely think it needs some friction but it depends on your specs, since I have heavier roll I don’t have trouble getting it to start up whereas some people may. So I’d say a middle block ball or maybe earlier depending on your specs.

With their total differences I see them being close to the same strength, Venom being stronger if nothing else, but two completely different shapes, so I would definitely be able to throw them in the same bag because I prefer different shapes over different strengths but if you’re someone who really wants to let the ball strength be your separator there may be better options for a ball down

Depending on how Rev or Speed dominant you are I would lean towards getting something like The Road, IQ Tour, Venom Shock, or one of Hammer’s Scorpions, essentially just something down from the Summit, before I’d go for something above it.
