We checked with our experts, here's what they said: With a SCR file you can’t add a stop, it runs then stops at the end of the script, that’s the way scripts were intended to run. If you try and add a stop, it stops and won’t resume, so you’d need to make two different script files to run the first until the stop point is reached, do whatever, then run a second one to finish.

I followed this guide to the letter, but my custom Structure catalog isn't in the dropdown shown at 54:05. It is there, when i navigate to the folder containing all the other typical catalogs. Any idea as to a solution?

We checked with our experts, here's what they said: It's a bit difficult to diagnose this without working directly with them. One thing that might be causing this issue is the user may be using a shared location for part catalogs and the IPE parts were published to this shared location. IPE parts are handled a bit differently than Part Builder parts where there are extra files that are put into the ContentLibrary/Templates directory found in the enu folder. Ensure that the parts are published to the default enu location rather than a shared location.

hello, could you tell me how to automatically change the wiring numbers before and after terminals? I mean I need a different numbering, for example, the wire D10AM before terminal WDU6SL and after it becomes D11AM?

Sorry this took a bit. We asked our experts, they said: Go to the wire number tab in the project properties and make sure everything is set up there correctly. You also need to make sure that they are using the terminal that is (whatever shape) with wire number change. If all else fails, hit our website and submit a support ticket.

Thank-you so much. That was really informative. Particularly about the users, subscription and flex. This is information that I was looking for that is hard to find. So if you have two people in the company, one person uses the subscription and one uses the flex. Also, I was unaware that it is online. This is never discussed or mentioned. I thought with flex that you would have to download the software and then use it with flex. Of if the software is already installed that it could be changed between the subscription user and the flex user via the log in. Thanks again.

Great video, good explanation. I just have one note towards the end of the video; @20:20 you mention that phases will be listed "if you have more phases other than existing and new construction, those will also show up here in a list of more options to the right", pointing at the title bar of the "Phase Filters" menu. That is not the case though. That is a pre-set and fixed number of phase statuses for objects within any given phase. Thanks for the video!

Hello, can you use a similar method using VB script that can select pipe/manhole on a specific network? So that you could have masteformat data set up for each network, sot hat when a user opens a new drawing using a certain template, anything they modeled like pipes and manholes could be automatically assigned?

I am getting an error with the code "Unable to cast object of type 'System.String' to type 'System.Object[,]'. - This is happening at the sWriteCell lines. I was able to trouble shoot all the way to the end but cannot get these lines of code to export the Properties. Any help would be great. This video is from 2020 and there’ve been significant changes to Inventor since then. Our experts noted that without seeing what you have written, they can only guess at what is happening. It’s possible you aren’t passing a string value to the GoExcel.CellValue lines. Those lines are expecting a string and the error mentioned states you’re passing an Object. did you get the phases created already from the FBX file import into Twinmotion?

Excel link kept cutting content from the end of my excel cells and doesn't have a good way to control text sizing etc. I wasted considerable time trying to make this work and couldn't - Ideate makes far better tools. Disappointing that it doesn't work as advertised.

I've notice that is quite hard to take dimensions in invnetor, It loses it-self between a pont which is in front of you and a point meter from you, but it's in the screen. Also, it keeps changing selection between guessing planes you want to select and poits. Would be nice to have a feature to chose size of the point, to select it easier.

We checked with our resident AutoCAD Expert, here's what he said: The presenter created a pipe style (In infraworks) called parking stripes2’. It’s a custom style he created to display the parking curbs as pipes. (The expert asked is not the same as who made the video, he said): I’d wager he did the following: 1. Went into the Style Palette, selected the rectangular pipe style under pipelines tab, and created a copy of that 2. Renamed the copy to Parking Stripes2’ 3. Made modifications to the duplicated style (height and width to be a curb size of 2’), then used that when connecting to the DXF file

Awesome vid, I was having problems exporting an stl of a pool filter basket. None of my cutout were thru cuts it was adding a skin to the outside of part. I did your save as the parasolid thing and reopeing just the solid and it worked perfect. Thumbs up from me.

The pattern is for odd shaped faces, in my opinion. I've had patterns on non-rectangular faces, where I had to turn off an instance here or there in the tree.
