You are saying owner operators tthat do not have their own authority are not truly independent businesses owners. Will you make a video that says immigrants that can not read, write and speak English are truly not legal truck drivers and should be immediately pulled iff the road and deported? Also ones that have over stayed their visas and are here illegally should be deported as well?

@@TruckingandPolitics let’s have the facts here . Let not be confused and emotional here . 1 - if you open up a business and you go and work under someone’s direction , someone telling you how much you can or can’t make per mile , someone dictating your time off and time on , someone dictating you when and where you can fix your equipment , then tell me what it means ? Independence or dependence ? 2.- it is not my call , it is not in my power to decide who comes to this country or doesn’t . That is the reason we have a government. They are there and paid by us to take care of those situations. My duty is , as a member of this society , as United States citizen to do whatever I can to help anyone who needs help to understand this business and little bit better so everyone can succeed . If the FMCSA give CDL and business permits to people who are not legal here in America and people who don’t speak English , you must contact your representatives and bring the case to them and fight for it if you want changes . We , all of us can get together and try to change the laws , rules and regulations to benefit all of us . Your anger towards people who doesn’t look like you doesn’t make any sense. You were angry at me without knowing me or knowing my status in USA. You assumed many things about me and all your assumptions were wrong . So, for your own health , start educating yourself yourself before you accuse others. I will like to meet one day so we can talk about it . If you want to do your pod cast , we can talk about that . I don’t think you are bad person . I honestly believe that you are misinformed, that is all.

Home loans and heloc loans are based off of your federal tax returns by law. As an owner operator or an independent contractor it is very hard to get a loan because of this fact. You have stated what you make per month. In my calculations you gross less than $250,000 per year before deductions. After deductions you should be around $50,000 to $60,000 taxable net. With that information, how did you get a loan for 10 times your annual salary? I just purchased a home. I went through the process. I had perfect credit. My annual gross was very comparable to yours. The banks would only allow me to borrow $185,000 for the purchase of a home. Educate me.

Honestly, the it's they pay you the more they make, so I doubt you're paid less for your accent. You don't need an accent to incentivize a broker to pay you less: YOU NEED A HEARTBEAT. It doesn't benefit a broker to discriminate only on someone like you when they could discriminate on everyone. Rates are down, companies don't want to pay enough, while prices and inflation are UP. Thank you for speaking English though. I believe it is important to abolish these government entities and more: FMCSA, PHMSA, EPA, DOT, NHSTA, etc. none of these entities are serving their purpose anymore and are pushing for corruption instead of safety.

A $500 for running 1000 miles empty is pocket change from what you made.. A small expense now is a upper gain later.. Many truckers think using what you just talked about to save money on fuel will cost them in the long run... If everyone did what many do then companies and brokers will assume all will accept it... The reimbursement on fuel should only be used in a emergency or worst case scenario.... Many go for the quick fix and they don't realize that they are pulling the rug out from under them and everyone else

1000 miles at 9mpg is over 110 gallons. If it's not profitable, it's slavery! Trucks of ole' regularly ran at 4-5mpg which is around twice the consumption and of course twice the cost for a 1,000 mile run. At $4/gallon, NOO THANKS I don't want to slave for that! Community is important until it becomes slavery. I'm not going to burn my life away working for free. This company job I have now? Doesn't even pay enough, so I consider it in the direction of slavery. Once my two years are in, I'm GONE! I want to do what is profitable, and these companies are not about profit at all!!!

Bro, your English is not 100% good. You will get more comfortable with time. I understand your motivation with brokers to speak English. But that should not be the main reason to know English. Especially if you have or want to have a cdl. You need to understand all the rules and responsibilities that come with that license. When it comes to brokers. They are glorified middlemen. They rely on ignorance to increase their profits. Experience, research, and due diligence are important to not get screwed. I have talked to a lot of people and gotten multiple responses on why things are how they are. Mega carriers, de regulation, election year, inflation, post covid, etc. Personally I think all of them combined play a role in the current market. But I have only been trucking for 2 years so what do I know 🤷🏻‍♂️ I wouldn’t say corporations run the country 100% but they have a loot of influence. Call me hopful😅. There is definitely a lot of people that know nothing about trucking but somehow are in positions that dictate policies that screw with the industry. Look forward to the next video!

The deregulation was put in place to disempower the drivers. Basically fighting a government stacked deck that favors the large companies. And then when trucking capacity collapses they scream driver shortage. You can tell the new guy not to take that 1.50 a mile load but he is convinced he is making money and knows more than you. So... a certain small group of elite truck drivers eventually develop above the churn of stupidity that is most of the industry.

I’m new to this industry and I try to learn as much as I can on my own. But you are right about cheap labor. What I’ve noticed is that all these mega carriers like to lowball us new drivers since most don’t know any better coming into this industry paying a few cents per mile and I think that’s part of the problem and reason why freight is the way it is. Cheap labor = Cheap freight. The more new drivers these corporate companies hire the more money in their pockets leaving us with crumbs. I blame the big corporate companies for this disaster. They’re trying to take over everything and leaving O/O out in the dust.

If mostré of any us would understand that WE ARE ESSENTIAL, none of this crap would be happening. Big companies and corporations will take advantage of drivers of drivers would let them . My freedom is priceless. After a couple years I change insurance providers and I paid less. For the last 4 years I had Great West Casualty and I paid about 11k , i believe is one of the best insurance companies in the market ( covers towing up to 5 k ) , but this year they want to charge me 14, 800 dollars per year . So I went with great America . I believe we are essential in America for Americans. Therefore we are very powerful united , BUT. We are not united , that is the reason we are very weak .

We got customers and landscpers beating us up in the landscape business. Don't worry nobody wants to pay for anything unless they are the ones charging top dollar.

I been watching your videos for awhile now.. Your 💯 Percent 🎯.. A lease operator is basically a financial slave to the company.. these lease operators are not owner operators.. I hear them bitch whine piss and complain about how they have to run so many miles or how they have to work so much... A real owner operator has his/her own authority.. Many of these lease operators have a way higher education then I have and yet they put them own selves through the hell.. You are correct these people who purchase a lease should not blame the Brooker or political parties or the companies... The lease purchasers should blame themselves for being stupid.. The borrower is and will always be slave to the lender... It is amazing how a person that moves from one country to another buys a Truck 🚛 as a real owner operator and understands how the trucking industry works... It costs alot of money to run a tractor trailer.. Fuel ⛽ labour metanince.. I recall four or five years ago truckers were bragging about $5.00 per mile USD.. Many truckers should of never took way less pay and more work.. The easiest way to say no was for many truckers to hang up the keys.. Your right many accepted the low wages.. I think its because many of these lease operators get a new truck 🚛 and they suck themselves into a financial slave contract.. I don't blame you for a second for not excepting low rates for a long haul... If more keep excepting lower and lower rates then those who agree to lower and lower rates should only blame themselves.. Thank You for driving truck 🚛 and working hard so people like me can buy products in the store... Your 💯🎯 I cannot blame you for not excepting lower and lower rates, keep standing up for what is Right 👍👍👍👍💪💪👏

Thank you Dereck . I really appreciate your input . For some truckers it is easy to blame someone else for their own shortcomings. If those truckers don’t start changing their mentality , nothing is going to change in this industry . Thank you again , for your time , for watching my video and most importantly , for Your comment.

So sir, are you telling us those mega carriers are lying to us? Because what is happening to me is the exact same thing you are talking about, and I cannot believe we can be so stupid. They are a bunch of liars, now I understand why they sent me home every week because there is not enough work.

O appreciate your comment Hector . I don’t know if can call a “lie “ I believe that information is out there for everyone to see it . The problem is most of us don’t care to educate ourselves. I would not blame mega carriers for sending me home every week . I would blame myself for not leaving that company right after the first week they sent me home . Probably , I thought I was going to be treated differently? Hector , we must understand that , this is the nature of this business and unfortunately, the people who are on top are very greedy people. So , the receipt , in my opinion , we must know our place and value in this industry . Thank you very much for your comment .

It's not just mega carriers that are dirty!!! This includes the companies that produce and transport and set up their own product. We are all in the bottom of the barrel.

@@Unduplicatable thank you so much for your addition to this topic . Course , everyone in this industry is here for one reason , one reason only TO MAKE MONEY . These people will do anything and everything to accomplish just that , no matter what . My issue is with the truckers who are letting these people take advantage of their passive actitudes towards this subtle exploitation.

I understand what you are saying sir. When I worked for M.S. Carriers years ago. They would TEACH. Companies now do not teach anything. M.S. Carriers would teach you to be a good company driver. They would teach you how to be an owner operator. They would say you need to be a business minded person to be an owner operator. You sir are different than most out here now days. You are teaching. This is why I call you a MENTOR. It's a sad state of affairs this country has become and a sad state of affairs the trucking industry has become. This is why I wanted to start my channel. I'm glad we found each other here. I have been in this industry for 23 years myself. My family, even more. We can all learn still. We need to educate, mentor and support our family and friends and industry. Thank you for making this video. I enjoyed it very much.

Thank you Sir. I appreciate that you appreciated my contribution to this industry. I believe nothing happens by accident. Everything happens for a reason . I’m also glad that I found your channel . Your ideas , your vision and the information you bring about this industry , is something that we all needed . I believe that , if we are here in this industry, we must bring something to the table to make it better , and I think you are doing an excellent job.
