This was a very satisfying video to watch up until you painted the pier with a bush instead of a roller.. i have no idea if a roller is the right tool for the job but it seems like that would have been very fun compared to a brush 😆. Thanks for the video!

Hi there Marten, I am a new subscriber from New Zealand….about as far away from your country as it is possible to get ! I am a very keen astrophotographer and Am about to embark on a pier and observatory build. I really enjoy your videos…but I’m not a handyman. I like the video on the pier plate manufacture as I also have an HEQ5 pro and can’t buy one anywhere ! I will ask my local engineering firm to shape and drill. One question I have regarding your excellent images is….i notice that you use zwo nb filters but your pictures show no evidence of halos at all ! I get terrible halos in Ha and Oiii. Either you are very good at removing them or you have found a way of not getting them in the first place ? Any tips would be very welcome. I am sorry to hear about your medical problem and personal. As the great philosopher Boethius said, ‘ this too shall pass’. With very best wishes and clear skies, Andy
@frosthastrophotography15 күн бұрын
Hello, and thank you for watching! I do get halos from time to time, not so much in HA, but in OIII and sometimes in SII. I think that is the case with most 7nm filters, since you have to go down to 3nm and the very best to avoid them. That is expensive :D I have a video on removing halos, that you can check out, but depending on object you will never get everything out. For example, Horsehead Nebula. Good luck with your observatory and your images!

Thanks. This is a great video. I have followed the instructions (several times) and yet I simply cannot make it work. I make the image container and process container with bxt just as you have. I drop the process container instance on the image container and yet nothing happens. No processing. No new files generated. Nothing. I cannot see what I am doing wrong. This is so simple, right? It should just work. I am beginning to wonder whether it is something to do with the fact I’m on a MacBook, or some setting in Pixinsight. Very odd.
@frosthastrophotography15 күн бұрын
Hi, and thank you for watching! I don't have any information that suggests that the Mac version behaves in any other way than the Windows version, but I can't be sure of that. Try dragging the little triangle of the ProcessContainer while it is open, onto the lower gray bar of the ImageContainer and see if that makes any difference.
@andrewj11327 күн бұрын
@@frosthastrophotography thanks. It turned out to be user error ie me! It only works when the tip of the cursor arrow is very critically positioned on the process container bar.

I don't understand why every one doing this service on KZbin to there HEQ 5 calls it a clutch when its a simple lock ! also I don't understand where the word hypertune comes from its purely a simple service and changing the ball bearing and taper roller bearings. why is everyone making out its so super duper when its not.
@frosthastrophotographyАй бұрын
Hi, thank you for watching! I must admit, the term hypertune is borrowed from others in my video. In regards to terms in english I admit some used by me are probably wrong due to the fact it's not my native language.

Hi, Thank you for sharing the observatory preparation and hope you have a great astrophotography season (the nice thing about 63 lat is long nights in the fall and winter). When we look at the sky we can see infinity which keeps us in awe at the greatness of the universe - this brings perspective and helps us to deal with many of the challenges we face. As an aside, I have had a herniated disc for more than 20 years - I find that what helps a lot is to get your body in traction (tension) 2-3 times per week through either an inverted table or using a machine to do pull downs. Avoid compression such as lifting heavy weights. This has helped me progress (I can now lift my CDK12.5) and reduce pain greatly. Clear skies and thank you for sharing your great videos Sam (Montreal)
