Thanks, man. I know it’s a wild dream but I’m hoping if we really get these customs out there they would see that the collectors really want some officially licensed Lara figures out there. Maybe if we make a little noise here I will even forward the link to NECA so they can revisit her. Lara is one of those characters I want heavy in my collection like Batman, Spider-man, Conan and Indiana Jones. I think she is popular enough and would be in demand. Let this be the petition. As someone who is also scheming up a custom 1/12 Lara Croft, this was very fun to watch!!! I have that exact same backpack ready to go, it seems like a no brainer! I'm also considering combining a fodder harness with some sort of pouch, but I'm leaning towards the one from Indiana Jones. It is pretty nice that it droops down in the back and doesn't interfere with her hair like a tighter backpack would. I also looked at the Valaverse bodies as an option but decided against it. I am planning on using Marvel Legends parts for the upper torso and sculpting on the little details for the top. I think the muscular arms work well for Lara Croft, they aren't like bodybuilder limbs or anything. I think it may be possible for you to get that shorts/upper thigh joint a little more flush with a bit of dremeling/cutting. Otherwise those Valaverse parts look like a great solution! I am looking at using the White Rabbit legs also, along with GI Joe Classified Zarana shorts. For those legs, the Squirrel Girl boots swap on very well- you should check that out! I am looking at using GI Joe Classified Lady Jaye boots with some dremeling to make them fit on the White Rabbit legs. Or I may pivot to other legs, still not fully decided. I don't think there are great arms for Lara unfortunately. Most of the fully bare 1/12 arms have some sort of wrist bracer on them. The arms I've found that are fully bare are from pretty old figures and aren't the best arms. I am looking forward to the new Marrow ML figure for those bare arms! I am planning on using the hip holsters from the GI Joe Classified Agent Helix figure. Your added climbing accessories are a great touch and really add character! For a Lara head, I am undecided, potentially choosing from these three options: 1- Rogue smirking head from Rogue vs Pyro 2 pack 2- Kate Bishop head (for a younger look) 3- Black Widow head from Beyond Earth's Mightiest (short hair version with hair removed) with hair from Rogue head from Rogue vs Pyro 2 pack Regarding removing the tattoos with acetone, as long as the plastic is flexible (like most limbs are) I think you should be ok as long as you don't let it linger too long. Great looking custom! Where are those glasses from? I haven't decided on if I will add glasses or not, but your specs look good! Your Angelina version is excellent as well!

This is absolutely an awesome response. This is actually the response I only dreamed of on this topic. I greatly appreciate you for taking out the time to contribute so much to this project. I am hoping we can really not only get some great custom Lara figures out here but maybe even encourage one of these companies to release some nice 1/12 scale Lara figures because I plan to do follow up videos for Lara figures. In regards to the sunglasses, I am assuming you mean the ones for the second custom Lara figure I covered. I literally have a small tool drawer with quite a few glasses and sunglasses that I have gathered in anticipating custom builds. It’s difficult to keep up where I get my smaller loose parts since I search high and low for them on the web but I think the sunglasses I used for my custom camo Lara is newer amongst the collectionso it should be easier to find the receipts where I got them from for my fodder collection. As soon as I get home later, I will look it up and let you know. Thanks, again!

I believe those sunglasses come from a user by the name of PKBA1577 on eBay.
@Dessiker25 күн бұрын
@@Greego Thanks for looking that up, they fit well! I am leaning towards skipping the sunglasses for mine because I've only had bad luck with sunglasses on 1/12 figures, they never seem to fit quite right, and that's even if they are designed for the character. And while Lara does have them from time to time I feel like most of the time she doesn't have them on anyways. I believe the upcoming "Lara" figure you referenced is from LooseCollector, apparently there should be a painted sample going up soon. They are calling it "Hannah (Krav Maga)". I am curious to see how they paint it as I assume they won't make it exactly like Lara Croft since they don't have the license. I'll probably pick one up to check it out, I'm hoping it will be $45 rather than $75 like some of their other female offerings.

Thank you for the review! Question, do you have any One:12 Collective figures? I really wanted a 1/12th scale Claire to go with a One:12 Collective brand Ghostface I have on pre-order, to do a sort of Dead By Daylight crossover display. Do you know how the two brands might compare with her being on the small side of 1/12th scale figures? I don't own any One:12 Collective figures yet, I'm just waiting for the Ghostface one to ship. I do have a Limtoys Leon, and from what I'm seeing in other reviews he seems to tower over Claire, which stinks. The accessories are very cool, but I was really hoping to display her with Leon and Ghostface, or at least Ghostface if the Leon in a giant. Disappointing they didn't just up the scale slightly so she wouldn't look so childlike.

@@Greego Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!! I decided to get a Storm Collectibles Golden Axe figure instead, because I was losing faith I was going to be happy with the Claire figure. Thanks, your comment here makes me feel even better about that decision! I had one nice chunk of birthday cash to spent on a pricy toy, so I didn't want to blow it on something mediocre, lol. It's just a shame, because there's no other options for a good RE2 Claire in that scale, at least at this time. I'm actually a professional sculptor and toymaker, so maybe I'll cave and just make my own danged one, lol. I wouldn't know what to do about the clothing and articulation though! I normally make my toys from scratch, I'm not a customizer, but could probably pull it off. Do you have any tips on a good 1/12th scale female base body that could be made into a Claire? Still I have no idea what I'd do about the clothing, Claire's is so specific.
@Greego2 ай бұрын
@ I think you may have to end up just customizing your own Claire. I want to emphasize though that the Brotoys Claire in the video is a really nice figure. She is just on the smaller side. A good base body I have my eye on is the Multi Joint Movable 1/12 Scale Female Body (LT004) BY CRAZY FIGURE. You can get some nice 1/12 scale Claire head sculpts on eBay as well as the soft goods too. I don’t think she be difficult to assemble.
@angelapileggi60312 ай бұрын
@@Greego Thank ya! Yeah what's holding me back mainly other than the size is the $120 price tag combined with the figure having such a flaw. I also don't collect this scale of figure, I just buy what I like. I have the Limtoys Leon because when my fiancé got me the DAMTOYS one, we weren't happy with how the head falls right off the balljoint, so we got his money back. Then a couple years later I got the Limtoys one and love it. On this Claire, The face sculpt looks a little off to me as well, but it's not like even CAPCOM have ever been consistent with that, lol. I have seen some of the custom heads, and they're okay but I'm not a big fan of 3D prints (muddy details, or a weird texture). If I make my own I'll sculpt my own head. I sculpt with clay (for now, I know some z-brush), but I can sculpt people/high detail. I have also been molding and casting my own work in resin since 2008, so no issue there either, lol. My main hang up is the clothing, as I don't sew, and just finding the time as I'm busy with original stuff.

I see a lot of reviews saying Claire is too short for 1-12th scale. But if you check the character she is 5 foot 6in tall = 66 inches = 1,676mm tall. So for 1/12 scale this equates to an action figure of say 140mm (ie: 1,676 / 12) >> which is what this BroToys Claire seems to be. Hasbro and ML always scales larger than real life. No one checks does their Math anymore LOL ! I pre-ordered both Claire and Jill ... to go with my BroToys Alice. (NB: a 6 foot tall character would equate to around a 152mm tall action figure).
@Greego2 ай бұрын
@@judgejase7583 There is probably a bit too much math here… The concept for 1/12 scale is a bit more simple. Its size in relation to other 1/12 scale figures. The standard 1/12 scale figure comes out to six inches in relation to a human male that would be about 6 feet tall (not an average human height). It is just a standard for the scale for 1/12 scale action figures. This comes out to 6 inches, as a standard for the scale. In the video, it is demonstrated with size comparisons that clearly show that the figure is on the shorter side compared to other figures in her scale or the 6 inches standard for 1/12 scale figures. So in relation to the concept of this scale, this would make the Claire figure about 5’3 inches as a human. But we are really not talking real human height here even though the scale is based on that. We are talking 1/12 scale figure height. Even for shorter figure lines in the 1/12 scale figure hobby, Claire is comparatively short (similar to the Princess Leia figure in the video). This concept works the other way around too. As you can see in the video, the Berenice figure is a bit on the taller side. But we don’t mind “taller” as much because the taller figure is more imposing and can have more of a presence. She is still a nice figure and I think you will enjoy what you are getting. However, if you own a lot of these figures like myself, you will immediately notice how much significantly shorter she is compared to most of the other figures on your shelf. Hasbro and ML figures are very standard height 1/12 scale figures. Some lines are smaller such as the Limtoys, SH Fuguarts, etc. Thanks for watching the video and commenting.

Aren't you scare the glass cabinets will give out and have the top statue crush the bottom statue?
@Greego3 ай бұрын
Good question… No, I am not concerned for that because the glass shelves are rated to hold about 40lbs. I even had my Sideshow Thanos on Throne statue on a middle shelf for about a year. I just reinforced it with two shelves. I was told by the manufacturer that the glass shelves are actually less of a factor for holding the weight than the actual pins in each corner of the cabinet that holds the glass shelves. So for heavier statues, I just move two pins in each corner to reinforce the support for the glass. If you are interested, I have a video named “Where do you get those statue display cabinets” where I discuss them. Thanks for watching!
