Theres 2 things that effect how well a receive antenna will work. Resonance and polarization. Soldering the opposite poles of 2 battery that arent connected to each other and that are insulated from the element doesn't provide anything. At least as far as my understanding of RF and electrical theory. Can someone correct me if im wrong here?

I was buying it until you took the bad battery out of view before rechecking the voltage. Then there was now proof that you were checking the same battery. Also as others mentioned, even if the same battery, it is unlikely they would last very long.
