In 1999 I was a regular at a certain nightclub in Johannesburg and on this particular Friday my spot in the club had been cordoned off, in my drunken stage I snuck past the cordon and tried to make my way to my regular spot...the bouncers came running to eject me yet 2 people within this area came running to have a look and talk down the bouncers, my mates behind the cordon also saw what was happening and also came running, Gough and Flintoff were those 2 people....and I explained they had taken my spot...they bought me a beer and let my mates come into the VIP area...legends!

Legend has it that Alan Donald broke the sound barrier circa 1991-92, then slowed down - in order to start a rivalry with Waqar Younis and Curtly Ambrose - and own both of them. Waqar had better late swing and reverse swing. Curtly exacted extreme bounce... Donald got hella' angry and broke the sound barrier AGAIN in 1994. There's a bunch of ugly, old, overweight farts that like to talk smack about a profoundly bothersome, beer-reeking, hairy cunt called Jeff Thomson, or Geoff Thompson - or however you spell that in Australian. Nobody believes them, of course. Damn Australia, you suck! With Brett Lee and Shaun Tait bolstering your fast-Bowling history, Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Johnson also coming in just shy of the 100 mile-an-hour mark - while still being "somewhat not quite as fast" as Lee and Tait... How can we even be having a conversation about a guy whose aesthetics are on par with Ron Jeremy?... A simpleton at that - and he had a beer gut. I saw several videos of him in action: well, Michael Holding looks faster, ever so sorry! Throw in an on-form Devon Malcolm and prime Patrick Patterson - and shall we start a whole series on the MYTH of Jeff Thomson?! Sure is a legend: an urban legend!

Athers has the same disease me and my dad have - anklosing spondylitis. He couldn’t duck the short ball easily and had to sway. He was always a minor hero of mine as to play top international sport with this disease is hard work. Athers would have been in some amount of pain constantly and had to adapt his techinique as AS messes with your flexibility.

First reason ...during 90s Average of 40 was considered good for opening batsmen ...sunny gawaskar had avg of 51 ..second he played most of his matches in England where condition r very helpful for fast bowler..it's like Nathan lyon despite having just as many wickets as harbhajan singh , considered much better off spinner because pitches in aus dt support spin bowler ..
