The diversity of European nationals living abroad in the Mid East region. Continues to be of great comfort & joy to those Arab states that accommodate them. The offer of free housing, medical & education. Along with a U.S $200K living allowance if you decide to become a citizen. Such gratitude is unheard of in Europe, yet the Mid East remains an always very tempting option. 👽👻✅

These "campus protests" have achieved absolutely nothing in favor of Palestinians. They´ve only alienated Jewish students and professors, many a times forcing them to quit their schools and move somewhere else where they won´t be singled out for being Jewish. These "protests" have spread disinformation, a total lack of productive and informed discussion and instead pure hatred and sometimes even violent demonstrations trying to impose the agenda of a few on entire universities. We have learned these ignorant kiddos who support Hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorist groups don´t even know what river and what sea they are chanting all about. I wish they would engage in real conversations and debate. But they just are equipped for that.

really not sure about framing what's happening in Palestine as a 'conflict' and uncritically accepting Mia's argument that saying things like 'from the river to the sea' is inherently anti-semitic. Israel, like Australia, is a settler colony that is (in part) designed to assimilate, subjugate or otherwise eliminate First Nations people. Why not interview an anti-Zionist Jewish person, rather than only include Mia's perspective and imply that anti-Zionism is inherently anti-Semitic, wherein criticism of the IOF is OK but criticism of Israel as a whole is wrong? Why accept the premise that the Israeli government & military is 'bad', but its existence is OK when its existence requires the genocide of Palestinian people (the genocide which is discussed in this video)? This section of the video seems quite shallow and it's a shame, because the documentary is otherwise a good look at University of Newcastle's ties to weapons mondoweiss.net/2023/12/on-zionist-feelings/ www.thenation.com/article/world/antisemitism-zionism-nikki-haley/ podtail.com/podcast/it-s-a-lot-with-abbie-chatfield/nevo-zisin-assigned-zionist-at-birth/

Great to see Yak is still creating content! This type of longer form documentary style is very hard to pull off successfully and even braver to produce, and you have done a great job, well done to all involved! I look forward to seeing what you produce in the future, and how you all continue to grow and experiment in this style and content space!

Great work Blair! Those students made history and have done so much in the face of feeling hopeless.

Newcastles campus access policy acts against all kinds of protest, including those criticising the uni but also union actions, already restricted as they are. Its alarming.

"Inextricably linked" what about the Jewish people that do not support Israel, those who decry it as fascistic, those who take aim at the anti-semitism itself perpetrates, are they somehow 'damaged' as Jews? Any way otherwise good coverage Blair, I get why you'd have to speak to at least one Zionist. For the ANU student, Mia, I would take a moment of introspection as to why otherwise very nice people are being critical of Israel as a project and not just as a 'problematic' administration.

Great work. The Job Ready Graduates legislation was abhorent and incredibly poorly timed. The emergence of AI, ChatGPT and deep fakes have made critical thinking and information literacy more valuable and important than ever and yet, here we are penalising students who want to learn those essential skills.

Australia has so much money yet fails to support students like they do it in Germany for example. I can’t understand why

Really interesting documentary, great work! Well done to all involved. FWIW I personally think going to uni is worth it. Regardless of what degree you do, it teaches you to think critically, which is a very important skill in the modern world.
