​@@randomnetsurfer Well, you can look at my past work and tell that I drew the goblin myself, since it matches the style of all my drawing process videos and my artistic sensibilities, whereas the background of the burning city behind him has some strange architectural details that reveal it as AI-generated, because I hate drawing backgrounds, and it saves time just to render out something abstract to give some depth to the piece. As for the music, you might read my comic or any of of the books I've written and realize that I probably wrote the song, since it features my brand of humor and turns of phrase and preferred subject matter. As for the singer, it's obviously not my voice which you can hear in the process videos, and I haven't given credit to another artist the way I always have when working with other artists in the past, so that's definitely AI generated too. The amount of work I had to put into getting a decent song out of an AI and all the post-processing work I put into it is not so easily detected, which is, of course, the point of polishing your work, and it's quite easy to think that its all just a "push the button and you get a finished product" because Ai can look a lot like that these days, and people seem to think that's all there is to it. In the end, AI is just a tool to be used, and I choose to try out new tools and see how I can use them to tell stories. I've been doing this stuff for a long time, and I remember having to deal with about ten years of people telling me I wasn't a "real" artist because I used computers to paint art instead of using oil paints on canvas. I can deal with another few years of people hating on my use of AI in my process. Oh, and I'm glad you liked my song, thank you.

@@randomnetsurfer i work in the games design industry, a large part of my job is being able to tell what is and what isnt ai, also if youve ever listened to ai music before you could tell a lot of similarities between this and them

Thank you, and thanks for such a well-reasoned take on the AI issue. When it comes down to it, I honestly would never have made this piece without using an AI assistant. I don't have the money to hire a singer for a little tune from an episode of my webcomic from 8 years ago. As for using other people's work without their permission, that's the most damning accusation against AI right now, but having spent a few years in the professional art world, I can tell you that AI didn't start that particular fire. Part of my job was covering the tracks of "unauthorized appropriation" in the company's art assets, usually Google image searches used for reference art and background textures. So most of my youthful idealism was cast into the corporate furnace long ago. That being said, the work our artists did served a purpose, building game worlds for people to enjoy. Did it really matter that a thin layer of texturing on the thigh armor of that aquatic NPC was stolen from some guy's whale painting that the overworked 3D guy found in a quick image search? Nowadays, I just want to tell cool stories and make things that people find entertaining. If AI can help me make a few people smile, then I'm all in. In my case, the only artist being put out of work is me. As for any young artists getting discouraged by the proliferation of AI out there, my best advice is to tell the stories that you want to tell, and bring something new to the world. AI can only copy what it's already seen, and in order for it to make something new, you have to bring something new into your use of it. Is this all just a load of Cope because I'm having fun playing with AI right now? Maybe. Either way, I hope y'all liked the song. Without AI, it would still just be an old Word .doc in a folder on my machine.

My only complain now is that there's no reference in the lyrics to shining more than the moon. If it had included that line, retroactively making Moonie's following line in the comic a callback to the dance, it would haven't been epic, it would have been WELL PAST EPIC.
