Now that was interesting. Like how you flew into Mama Bear mode for Vic, Tom and the dogs. (I'd fly off the couch too LOL). Robyn, how long will that meat last-about 6 months? a year? Your videoing of the process was exemplary-so well done, and so respectful with the warnings. Until next time...cheers.
@TheHollabbeyHomestead37 минут бұрын
The meat will last a year or a little longer probably in the freezer, But probably will be gone before then :) got a lot of holiday and Sunday dinner turkeys now hehe 😉 thanks for watching! I put the warnings up so I didn’t just surprise people with blood and guts, but I also did want to document it all as it is the harsh reality of eating your “own” meat. Take care!

Great question about the battery: so we have old DeWalt batteries that have been well used and are different sizes, so I can’t really make a fair judgement as most of these batteries have seen better days lol 😂 but I’d say you get 25 minutes on full blow power with the battery that is not so great haha 😂 Nova is sooo good now about not chasing side by sides that go by. That used to be a real problem haha 😂 now she just wants to be a livestock guardian like her brother and sister haha and scare away people! Can you believe some folks are afraid of Nova ? Amazing. Just yesterday while watching one of your other posted videos (2 school buses/2 routes this year)...I saw the ol' tractor with its flat tire and weeds growing around it. Such a sad feeling ... I remember when you got it, used it, and even the Wizard working on it. NOW, presto, a happy person I am to see Dave inflate the tire and Z'ol tractor moving on. Scary loading on flat bed, all is well that ends well. The two implements should serve you well! ❤
@TheHollabbeyHomestead21 күн бұрын
We really wanted to restore that old tractor ourselves, but was running out of time and space for it. A good friend of ours took it to restore, and probably over time I’ll maybe be able to get some video of the progress with the tractor. It couldn’t have gone to anyone better ❤️ I’m so happy with the trade, those implements will definitely serve us well, and the tractor went to someone who will give her the love and time she deserves! Thanks for watching!

@TheHollabbeyHomestead22 күн бұрын
Depending on how you are doing your fence, if there was a long section where it was just t posts theoretically you could do a 100 feet or more, you would want to go wood post to wood post just for attaching to keep it tight! Nova loves her shirt haha 😂 makes her feel special!

Thank you! 🙏 now that the leaves are changing colour it’s starting to look really stunning around here :) I was planning on going into the woods, we have trails thru there that are nice to walk on, but just as I was about to go in I noticed some poison ivy, and I was only wearing shorts and crocs (we are currently having heat wave of the year) so I decided not to risk it! However the forest trails are a magical place for a walk. :) maybe when it’s cooler and the ivy dies off I’ll try again to go into the woods. Thanks for watching!

I feel like this year everything is coming together quickly on the farm (and honestly the tractor helps a lot!) but we also spend every chance we get working on improvements around here! Thank you!! It’s been a labour of love for sure. We started from scratch here basically as it hadn’t been a farm for about 60 years +…. Little bits at a time!!! That’s how we do it! Thank you for looking back on our old videos- we been documenting since the beginning for our own memories. Sometimes we feel like we haven’t made much progress- other times it feels like leaps and bounds for us. It’s all coming along!

Adorable video! So genuinely nice of you to take care of Junebug and Willow while Russell is gone. The dogs will be so happy on your beautiful property. Nova seems very welcoming and chill about the 2 visitors. Your homestead is truly a piece of heaven. (Not sure how memberships work/get set up on YT but if you ever get around to it, I'd love to support).
@TheHollabbeyHomestead2 ай бұрын
The reason we asked Russell for so many visits with June bug and Willow is to make sure they are truly comfortable here- as I know if I had to find baby sitters for my dogs they would have a hard time adjusting to a different home and people! I’m glad we got to spend a lot of time with them before the actual date just so they would be comfortable! Nova is a very welcoming dog, just gets really excited (it’s the husky nature of her) but she’s a very friendly dog, and I’m happy the 3 of them got along just fine! I have yet to look into memberships on KZbin- will be a while as I don’t want to do it until we have more consistent videos (we both work full time, so sometimes it’s tough to produce videos on a consistent basis) but when that time comes, I will be so grateful for anyone who wants a membership! But just want to wait until we can provide consistent videos and entertainment ❤️

Not a dumb question at all! We are keeping some and selling some, a mobile butcher will be coming here in October to do it all.
