Bird mites. Very common in wild birds and part of why you don't want their nests in/on your house. Once the birds leave the nest, they can get into your house looking for you or your pets to get a snack from. :/ If you have pets, make sure to get them checked at a vet in the near future especially if they're scratching a lot.

Bird mites only affect birds. They will not bite humans.
@LethalBacon4795 күн бұрын
@@knottybead4871 Unfortunately, not true. They will bite you but will not survive on our blood or pet blood. They do need bird blood to survive but they will bite pets and people.

Bird mites will feed on humans but do not live on humans as they cannot complete their life cycle on humans. Therefore, infestations are generally self-limiting if birds and nesting have been eradicated. www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/wps/wcm/connect/public+content/sa+health+internet/conditions/bites+stings+and+pests/bird+mites+prevention+and+treatment#:~:text=Bird%20mites%20are%20naturally%20found,mites%20can%20cause%20severe%20irritation.

A robin built a nest also at our front porch just 3 weeks back. Its hilarious, coz she built it on top of our fake plant that stood next to our front door. She laid 3 eggs, and she and her mate guarded it night and day. The eggs hatched after a couple of weeks and the parent birds got so used to us, the dad was no longer scared to come and greet me when I come home from work. The dad kept a tight watch on the chicks when the mom goes to feed. The chicks grew so fast within days, and just flew the coop 2 days ago. I miss them.

Is there such thing as a birdhouse for the Robin family? Could it be assembled and fitted in an area like underneath an overhanging roof in a patio area ?
@WatchingWildlife22 күн бұрын
I believe they like to build their own from scratch
@TheMaiah1318 күн бұрын
@@WatchingWildlifeyes they do. They make the nests out of twigs and mud. And never use the same nest again

I believe there are many elements that contributed to this outcome including the bugs. If you watch the first couple episodes, you might see some of the other elements that also contributed

Great video, if you are truly trying to create a documentary, I would recommend letting the people you are speaking to finish speaking, a few times you talked over them so difficult to hear what they are saying. Thanks for documenting this. I made a video on our trip as well. Actually, captured saving someone from the current of the Colorado at the confluence!! (forgot my GoPro was still on)

The canyon 'tucked in' we call 'Tea Garden.' Used to have more trees, but some blew down years ago. The mine was for vanadium. And people do climb it...but if they catch you, they'll throw you out. Behind Mooney Falls at pool level is a very small cave, big enough for two. And... the big mine at Carbonate has 3 levels. 2 deep down.
