Everything worked as described in the video except ability to test the device before mounting. Mine would not adjust in increments when clicking through the temp dial. But I mounted it anyway and it actually worked. It is a squeeze to get up in there and replace. Using a 5.5mm socket or 1/4" socket works to get the three mounting screws out if you have difficulty with philips screwdriver. The lower drivers plastic is easy to remove. Thank you for the video!

So if the brake is bad/ failing it will just start locking up? I hate to wire it directly and remove the ability to remove the run plug to prevent moving it just needs a new brake. Would a new run plug do anything?

Is this still working today? My cart runs for about 50 ft and then stops. I release pedal and then push it and it goes another 10 ft and then I start smelling a burning smell. Do you think I should replace with new brake or just do the jumper. Will by passing the jumper now fix what I am currently experiencing or could the brake now be fried and must be replaced.

I drive a little and then it stops. I release pedal and I can go about 20ft and does it again and I smell something burning. Is this the fix to try?

that is a really well designed brake, if the windings have an issue you can just replace the windings as a unit, I wish mobility scooters did that!

Thanks for posting. I got fan control to work by the recalibration, but gave up on replacing the heater regulator. To hard to get underneath there for a 75 year solstice owner. God bless anyone who can get in there and replace the stepper switch.

Dude, you rock!!! This solved my problem in about 3 minutes. 2013 RXV. I didn't cut the wires. I just took two 3" pieces of 14 gauge (white) romex white wire and created my own makeshift jumper to get it going. Totally awesome. Thanks for the research and video!

Hey there. We have one of these that burns up the brake every 2 to 3 months, i have bypassed the connector and they dont get wet very often if once or twice a year. and it keeps happening. Has anyone been able to figure out what the actual source of this problem? Seems like all these ezgo carts are doing it.

My wiring is different colors. I have a 2013 RXV. The green jumper would be 2 red wires and the red jumper would be a black and black with white tracer. I'm assuming it's the same concept and the colors don't matter. What are your thoughts?

Reprogamming the control fixes this issue. A lot of times you can reuse the old brake, if you haven't trashed the brake out. Once you start having brake issues, get it to a dealer quick. Its a cheap reprogram, and you can continue to use your old brake. (You can remove the brake, then also make a simple tow rig for the front of the cart, for your vehicle, to get it to a dealer)

Well after much research because my brakes locked up I came across this video. I found the plug just like in this video and unplugged it. I didn’t cut it out just yet all I did was insert a small screwdriver into the pins slot so that they would expand and make better contact. I also put the cart in neutral and tow and it moved well. Brakes are no longer locked up and no more burning smell but still am amazed at why they would wire a circuit with this jumper. Great job to you for finding this and letting us know. Not to confident that the screwdriver trick will last long so I may be soldering soon. Thanks again for posting this
