Why? 😂 But seriously, how on earth can you know what Jesus is doing? How can you even know that any of the stuff he supposedly did before he died actually happened and how can you know he rose from death? The answer to all of these is, of course, you can't. You hold certain beleifs but they are merely your opinions. Not facts.
@revddf7 ай бұрын
I repeat, because there is good historical evidence. I'll keep my response brief, because this is not a Christian apologetics channel - there are plenty of them if you're interested in knowing why we believe what we believe. But the New Testament scholar and historian N T Wright went into great detail in his book 'The Resurrection of the Son of God' on the historicity of the Resurrection. Other scholars have done so on the reliability of the Gospels - for example Craig Blomberg's book 'The Historical Reliability of the Gospels', or, say, the standard commentaries on Luke's Gospels by people such as Joel Green, Darrell Bock, John Nolland, I Howard Marshall, etc. Beyond that, you might find a podcast such as sidebstories.com interesting for the accounts of people who left atheism behind because they no longer found it convincing.
@theoutspokenhumanist7 ай бұрын
@@revddf I have read Wright's book and, like every other Christian apologists, he is a fraud. Because he offers no genuine evidence at all. The crux of the matter is how evidence is defined. If you are prepared to take as evidence someone's word, either in person or in text, that a string of impossible things happened, then the bible and the handful of brief extra-biblical mentions of Jesus might satisfy you. Especially if all your seeking is confirmation of your pre-existing beliefs. However, there is absolutely no verifiable, incontrovertable evidence for the existence of God, or of a divine Jesus or for any of the major themes of the Old or New Testaments. Nothing. If you know different, please take a moment to highlight a few in a response. As for atheists who become Christians, their tales are unimportant. Any more than you are moved by people who leave Christianity. Anecdotes of personal experience cannot be verified and are thus invalid as evidence. I look forward to learning of your good historical evidence.

You'd need to prove Jesus actually ascended to heaven, before aserting his activities while in heaven. Nothing proves Jesus' divinity, miracles or resurrection... NOTHING!!! The bible is the claim, not the proof. The bible is just a collection of words printed on paper, comprising mutitudes of unsubstantiated claims. It's all mythology until it can be definitively, and demonstrably proven... Good luck with that!!!

I disagree with you. I think there is good historical evidence for the Resurrection and the general historical reliability of the Gospels.

Thank you! Also, still waiting to hear precisely what purpose, suicidally or delusionally prone pride... does serve, in an, Arch angel? Just, for the record. It does seem an odd way, to start creating. I also await an update, on John 14:12, I guess.

You do know that Sunday is not the Sabbath day, right? the seventh day Saturday is the true Sabbath day. Sunday is the first day of the week not the seventh day. The church at Rome changed this without God's permission.

@@revddf Yes we are all ok. All learning how to use digital stuff in new ways. We have weekly zoom service, and some have returned to church. We are still at home as M still has to work from home for foreseeable future until things are safer. Our garden and all wildlife in it and flowers has been absolute blessing in lockdown. Met up with our local family on Friday at St Mary's Bay, with fish nd chip supper and most amazing purple, red, gold and orange sunset. It was as if The LORD was saying behold my glory..1st time we'd been out since March. Blessings to you all.
