Wow, I'm not as terrified of spiders these days. These videos will help others appreciate these quiet, special and essential species. They aren't bugs! They take care of lots of bugs. I NEVER kill spiders. I relocate if it's winter into the garage where there can find a hole anywhere to stay warm. Great video❤

Hey there,I live in Southeast Kentucky,,I had something show up and they were attacking me while in the bed,we thought they were mice and I spent maybe $300 bux trying to kill mice and didn't kill the first one last night 8-18 I felt something crawling up my leg.I looked and it was a centipede about 12 inches long and,I started looking around then looked at my clothes and every stitch of my clothes had lots and lots of centipede's in them and some were absolute giants,like 20 inches long and the business end the head of most of the ones I found had a head about 1 to 1.5 inches wide,what do I do to get rid of them. ?
@MaritaDeLaPenaDTG3 ай бұрын
To get rid of centipedes, it's essential to reduce moisture in your home, as they thrive in damp environments. Start by fixing any leaky pipes or faucets and using dehumidifiers in areas like basements and bathrooms. Ventilating these spaces will also help. Since centipedes feed on other insects, eliminating their food source is key. Seal any cracks and gaps where insects might enter, and use traps to catch bugs like spiders or ants, which centipedes prey on. Sealing entry points is another important step. Check for gaps around windows, doors, and walls, and install door sweeps or ensure window screens are intact to prevent centipedes from getting inside. Additionally, removing clutter from basements, attics, and closets will eliminate their hiding places, as they prefer dark, undisturbed areas. Regular vacuuming in corners and closets can help keep them out of these spaces. Natural repellents like diatomaceous earth can be effective for killing centipedes by dehydrating them, while essential oils like peppermint, tea tree, or eucalyptus can be sprayed around entry points to repel them. In more severe cases, chemical insecticides might be necessary. These can be applied around baseboards, windows, and cracks where centipedes may hide, with products specifically designed for crawling insects. Boric acid is another option that can be spread in affected areas. If these methods don’t work or you have a large infestation, it may be time to call a professional pest control service. They can assess the situation and apply targeted treatments to eliminate centipedes and prevent future infestations. By following these steps, you can effectively reduce the presence of centipedes and make your home less appealing to them.

It may possible and some species have been successfully hybridized but it's highly frowned upon and consider unethical by many standards to do so.

An English Mastiff is on my list of potential dogs for my 2nd dog. You said he is good with the small dogs, and this has been one of my primary concerns with my getting one, simpy due to their size, and potentially stepping on my Whippets legs when they lay down to snuggle up or something. Have your small dogs ever been injured accidentally by the big guy?

That's the reason I decided to start keeping them I live in Arizona and one day was clearing some cinder blocks got to the last one on the bottom like a dummy looked in real quick didn't see anything and grabbed it but the little guy was covered in so much dirt I couldn't see him but yeah he got me good at first it was just like a shock I guess and I didn't see what bit me and I was thinking a snake but wen I pulled up my hand yeah lol he was just dangling there not thrashing or anything but just hanging on with that look on there face they have like ummm hey yeah I go you does it hurt? Lol anyways yeah it did hurt very painful it would feel like it was going away then I'd get a huge burning wave of pain right up my forearm I couldn't even sleep it was so bad lol ...but after that I started doing more research on them and got a captive bred gilla his name is chomppers 😎 then I got a pair of beadeds Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie lol😅 there so good I haven't gotten any eggs yet hopefully soon though as they just turned of breeding age fingers crossed 🤞 ..blessings to you have a great one!

There are subspecies that are different colors. I have not been bitten but I have seen mine bite 3 other people 4 times. They danced around a bit and it bled a lot but didn't seem too bad overall. Of the venemous bites I've watched people take, I'd rate these a 5/10 on a pain scale. Of course, that's only been through first hand observation, not as the patient.
