Live about 2 miles away....Got a 17' Alumacraft canoe....a 13 yr old grandson....and a loving wife....sounds like a recipe for good times this Summer/2023 at Lake Byllesby! Would like to try out some inflatable kayaks this year, too! Kind of like to be able to paddle my own boat. Can't wait!

Great area. Wish I lived closer myself; we would be able to do more outings on the Cannon. If you decide to try an inflatable on the lake, make sure it's a calm day. Inflatables catch a lot of wind. They also have more drag than a hard body so you will always be slower than others if they are in hard body boats.

@Twin Cities Kayaking I hear you about the hard and "soft" kayaks. I wish I hadn't sold my hard shells before we left the Black Hills of South Dakota. It seemed like a good idea at the time....not so much now. I had 4 and at the time, I couldn't see how I could get them all in the U-haul truck. Live and learn! Have a great paddling Summer!
