Just got the korg microkorg- any recs for my setup since im just starting out?
@Argh0nautАй бұрын
Depends on what you want to do. A little mixer and a drummachine was wat I needed. But you could start with an audio interface to connect the MicroKorg to your computer. using Midi to sync and control the synth and some software to add more to the sound, ableton or FL studio. Or get in a band as the synthplayer.

It's full to the left, counter clockwise. When playing with other synths I turn it up to match the right tuning or play around with it to get a nice rise or fall sound.

Hello my friend, watching your video I came to the point, that you maybe could help me with a little (big) problem. It's this: I have a CRAVE and a RD-9 and I want the RD-9 controlling the CRAVE with Clock and start/stop. So that I still are able to program the CRAVE via its internal sequencer, but that the tempo is synchronized with the RD-9. Very simple. But without a proper manual... you see my point? Would be great, if you can give me an instruction how I can solve this little (big) problem. Greetings!
@Argh0naut7 ай бұрын
One sollution would be to have the sync out of the RD9 go into the play/stop of the crave using a patch cable, which should be provided with the crave. Another option would be using a midi cable, out of the RD9 and in on the Crave.
@ohrengold7 ай бұрын
@@Argh0naut Thanx a lot! Via MIDI there comes only the start/stop signal, not the clock. Via sync >> play/stop it works, but the tempo is with a big factor faster. Synchronized but with 4 steps while the RD-9 makes one. Usable but really not comfortable.

Can’t you just connect them via midi and do separate audio outs into your interface or mixer instead of passing the audio through the microkorg as well as midi? Doesn’t passing both the audio and midi apply and fx from the MicroKorg to whatever drum machine is running?
@Argh0naut10 ай бұрын
Four years ago I did not have a mixer or audio interface, nor a sequencers or any knowledge of video settings for stabilizing😅 So this is a simple setup for those who just started. Passing the drums through the microkorg can have some nice effects when using the vocoder effects filtering the drum sounds. Did a video with the same setup as well.

The only thing the midi connection controls is the clock, so the effects are controled by the machines individually.

Hi, great video! im having trouble with syncing the microkorg to a roland tr 8s, here's my problem: The roland i use as master (midi out) to the korg (midi in/slave), so that the arpegiator of the korg follows the tempo of the roland. Everything is pretty perfect so far except although the arpegiator tempo is correct, half of the time it starts and stays off beat. How do i get the arpegiator to run perfectly on the beat, what am I doing wrong? Or is the microkorg simply "inaccurate" by design? Ps i tried matching midi channels but that makes the arpegiator glitch by playing notes i'm not even touching, so even worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thx!
@Argh0naut Жыл бұрын
Start by setting the midi from the korg to ext. That should be enough for the clock signal to sync. The arpegiator has some settings as well, Arp B and key sync, try to toggle that and see what happens. I think Key sync should be off to sync to the clock to be on beat. Hope that helps!

@Argh0naut2 жыл бұрын
Works fine here with the drumbrute sending midi. Do other devices have latency problems too when connected to the sr16? Do you connect the midi cable directly? Try finding settings for the sr16 and td-3 for latency on online fora. How much latency?

@Argh0naut2 жыл бұрын
Midi is an option as well, the clock signal only syncs the bpm, with midi you can control more, but not from the rd9, so in this setup there would be no difference. I have a sequencer which I do connect though midi and set the note info. It is just one of the many ways to sync, so whatever Works best for you 😊

Not just one thing in particular. Just an accumulation of all things leading to algorithm trying to get me to watch the same kind of blend vanilla content, the explosion of 'compelling' thumbs. I guess it started when marketing took over the bloggosphere and suddenly everyone was abiding the 'rules' to make 'great' content. It is not something new. But it is getting to a point of no return if we do not rebel the algorithm. And I felt like making a video, been a while and I realy like making video's, it is a personal journey and a lot of room to grow :)
@MichaelMinneboo2 жыл бұрын
@@Argh0naut Well, I see your point. As a videocreator and someone who's been on youtube since 2007, I'm getting pretty fed up by the 'rules' myself. This week the algorithm was quite helpful though. I've been getting these videos in my feed of people who quit social media. After watching a couple of them over a couple of days, I decided the universe was trying to tell me something. (Maybe the universe uses some sort of algorithm as well.) So I put my Instagram-account on non-active. Just for a while to see how it feels.

When you have the pattern active/selected. You press shift+reset+pattern. If you then save it, it will override the memory.
