An experienced ex-speedway rider/current and multi-time GT140 champion vs an ever-improving youngster, and this was only a heat, not a semi-final or final. Personally, due to the blatant dodgy overtake and the pushing and shoving of a marshal who was only trying to stop him from walking onto a track in front of children on the start line, Max Broadhurst should've been banned from the meeting, but he did a little comeuppance in the final and you could argue that Ian Clark shouldn't have ridden in the centre circle and he could've maybe conducted himself better.

Might be the most difficult sport on the planet to find a years fixtures for. Tried going this year but couldn't find out a damn thing about it. Found someones patreon and a website that aint had its calendar updated since 2021!

Great vid as usual Bob, great action from the GT140's, always provides great racing
@BOB2311585 ай бұрын
Thanks Mark. I agree with your comment about the GT140's as well. They might not be like 500's, but much closer racing. It use to be like that in all the Solo classes in years gone by, but those days are well behind us. Not as many riders in the mainstream classes anymore, or they race in Europe instead, and i can't blame them, as better prize money, start money, and tracks. Different ball game in Europe.

Both adults, racing in a heat, massive age difference between the two.

Being honest Max was docked 4 places for 'exceeding track limits' here. Where was he alleged to have left the track at any point??
@TonyAvis5 ай бұрын
It is possible he exceeded track limits on the run to.the line but difficult to be certain without watching a slow motion reply. They were both pretty close to the ropes which were a fair bit outside the outer markers so at best he was extremely close to track limits. If you were there you are probably aware that wasn't the end if the incident. Sad thing is both of them would have qualified for the final anyway so it wasn't vital to win the race.
@bosssuggs15 ай бұрын
Having seen the whole video AND speaking to Max and his Dad, not only were no track limits exceeded but the heavy handed actions of the steward who unnecessarily and stupidly manhandled Max caused further damage to Max's injured hand/wrist causing him issues later in the event. Regardless of the rights or wrongs (wrongs as it happens) of the docking of places, the steward was completely out of order.
@TonyAvis5 ай бұрын
It wasn't fair. There is no excuse for deliberately running someone off track coming out of the final corner. Equally there was no excuse for riding down the green in the middle of the circuit shouting and swearing and almost hitting some of the marshals because you feel aggrieved by the actions of another rider and then attempting to start a fight in the entrance to the pits.

He didnt run him off you blind
@TonyAvis5 ай бұрын
@@brianbassett4094 I suppose you were there then. If so then it would appear that you.are the blind one. He ran him out past the markers denoting the outside of the course which were some way from the ropes. Strange that the other marshals and, as far as I am aware, the Clerk of the Course all felt the same. Obviously you.seem to.think you.know better than people who witnessed the incident.
