Louisiana Hot Sauce is my go to when I'm deployed. It makes a lot of bad or low-quality food taste a lot better. I ususally eat the hot sauce sardines after a heavy cardio or leg day, you feel a lot better the next morning.

You need to try a good brand. There is good and bad. The good is amazing, and the bad are VERY bad. Olive oil is the only thing you should get them in. If it is just vegetable oil, it isn't good. It is also a bad quality fish. Extra virgin olive oil is even better. The BEST sardines I've ever had are from King Oscar. They are the best "cheap brand" and rival the more expensive brand. They have very good quality fish and the oil is good as well. They are packed nicely and aren't slippy like this. They are affordable and often on sale with their other products(which are all good as well). They are the best canned protein you can buy as the everyday person with a normal bank account. It's even better if you're broke and need meat to survive. They have a hot sauce version as well. I would love to see you try those. Sardines are usually nor canned whole. They are almost always gutted and have the head removed. Just so you know theres no need to really worry. Their bones are soft and if you ever did find one with a head its totally safe to est just as their spine and ribs are.
