Prior to that I Was An Exchange Student Sponsored By An Agency Under The State Department. After Graduate School I Returned Home In 1974. In 1976 I Went Back To The States For An Intensive Training Course At The World Bank. In Those Days We Never Had Any Problem Of Getting Our Visas. In Fact We Never Thought About Being Rejected. Now People Have Sleepless Nights Before The Day Of Visa Interview. In Fact The Whole Family Goes To The Embassy And Stay Outside The Compound Praying To God Or Allah To Soften The Heart Of The Visa Officer To Issue The Visa. If The Visa Is Rejected The Whole Family Is In Mournig For Days. If Accepted It Is Happy Days. How Time Has Changed? After 33 Years I Applied For A US Visa. Thanks For The Visa Officer My Request Was Accepted Without Much Ado. Since then my visa has ben renewed two times for a 2 year period each. I am grateful to Uncle Sam. I pray He Lives For Ever Like God Himself. From Ethiopia. 🎉
