I love the imagining part of the lesson... but you only asked them what they tink, you didn't teach the truth to them. You kept saying "is the water...?" rather than saying something to actually teach them the water's behaviour in different settings (tub, river, ocean) - it would be more helpful to see the actual teaching part of the lesson - because with just waving their arms around and imagining their own version of what happens doesn't really teach them about the science does it? I also found that the noise factor was far too high for many neurodivergent kiddos... which will prevent them from learning. Or prevent a neurodivergent teacher from teaching effectively. Please tell me there was far more to this lesson than what was shown... I will say that I stopped and noted the idea of doing the paperwork while encouraging them to help their neighbour (thus teaching and retaining more) was super!

I'm curious about the scoreboard as a necklace. It is just a lanyard? I can't tell.

I am a little confused. Do the starriest replace the Scoreboard? Hope not. If not, will it be too much and confusing for little kids to do both at the same time right away?

Thank you! I had no idea where to start. This is exactly what I needed. Also, thank you for reassuring me that its okay to not get it right immediately. I was pretty nervous, but I think I can totally do this now. :)

I think this video will be very helpful for the students "in need" but don't feel like they have a safe/comfortable communication to express their worries/feelings. I have used other videos to monitor students' reactions to expression emotions and this video has moved to the top. It is a quick and cute on-the-spot assessment.

Hi! I’m a kindergarten teacher in Philadelphia! Just wondering how long you spend in each area of “talk” after it’s introduced. Does this span the whole year? Also, is there a whole brain writing curriculum that can be purchased?

I can almost guarantee you that classroom isn't like that constantly. That was a show for the camera. I'm sure he uses things like that every day, and I'm sure they work, but no one gets that level of enthusiasm and participation from everyone all the time. I also see a lot of learned responses. Words and actions that are done in response to his words and actions. It's good to have one or two to get attention, but for the amount happening here, there's no learning, they more resemble trained animals responding to a routine.

I love this! Just bought the color writing book and about to start my teacher training in Sept, and I am really hoping to use this to help the students who struggle... I thought I "got" it, but this super helped!! Thank you all for being so vulnerable and trying stuff out live to help us learners. ❤

I would think students would figure out how to earn points pretty quick by jerking the teacher around this cycle. "Lets talk so teacher says rule 2 to us, then we can all respond and earn a point"

Why did he tell the girl to put her hand down? Maybe she had a misunderstood right from the start, and that would add up and negate all the rest of the lesson. That was disappointing.

Going into teacher training in September so I don't know how much of this amazing system I can implement on my teaching placements, BUT when I get my first classroom of my own - FUNTRICITY CITY! As a adhd kid back in school, this would have changed everything! THANK YOU to the whole team making this available to teachers, you are teachers for the right reasons, the kids. ❤❤❤
