Cougar is the same as a Mountain Lion for those living further south. And it is a mating call. She's looking for love.

I can't decide if the lion is mad or calling possible romantic envolvements...really cool, tho. I've heard them, but not this much at a time. The ones I heard were not as loud...I think those were romantic...

My brother and his friend was camping in a remote wooded area when they were teens. My brother said they heard a mountain lion screaming as it followed the river past where they were camping. He said they were scared to death.

Just had one scream at me last night

Several years ago my sister and a buddy of mine and I were going to go camping out in the middle of the woods in Oklahoma and we heard what sounded like a woman screaming we ran fast as we could out of the woods at the time we did not know it was a mountain lion

I've worked third shift security for a while and heard plenty of things. Yet haven't heard this in TN so I think I'm good. Never told them I was carrying a 12 inch knife with me every night. Never out in the woods without it.

I live in Idaho and saw one hanging a guy just shot. I'm 6 2 and this female cat was nearly a foot higher top of head and her feet were on the ground with her legs at 45 deg. angle. And this was a female. Made me reflect on covering ground while hunting in the mts.
