Thank you for your comment mate. Truth is the grading settings are the same as any other video of mine, so not sure why this time it struck you as odd but here we are XD Maybe its the higher ISO, or my screen needs some calibration. Who knows

After comparing and rewatching some other works I think I know what irritated me the most. The beige building is catching blue tint depending on the angle. I perceived that light bluish color as grey what led me to believe there is low contrast. This side effect from your saturated sky has never affected the subjects like in this video. Case closed. 😊

@@LarsEchterhoff Yeah the low contrast comment puzzled me a bit cause I can see on my graphs that it is at the same levels it always is but i can see what you mean about the blue tint causing the illusion of low contrast. Thing is, that blue tint has always been there, but i think it struck you this time because its the first long shot I do where I constantly go from very light to very dark environments and perhaps it made it pop.

@@tooclosetothesun_fpv grading is a different beast. I encounter regularly an effect you might be familiar with. While selecting and grading photographs I get kind of blind from reality. My perception of neutral gets shifted and I lean towards an edge I can't get away from. This is usually the moment I have to step back and revisit the grading after some "perception recalibration" aka screen off time.

@@LarsEchterhoff I surely get what you mean and i ve encountered this in many different forms of art. You get into a state of mind when you deal with certain situations that over time creates a safe space of sorts that its hard to break out off and eventually stagnates your growth.

I understand that this format deviates a bit from my traditional videos but i feel that as artists we have to experiment with our craft and try out new things. Some times it works while other it does not, but when it does it can open open brand new horizons.

Thank you so much for this comment brother. It really means a lot to see all the work that goes behind the scenes to get the footage look just right get noticed. While i agree that you dont need super expensive gear to capture great footage and it is more about how you use your equipment instead of how much $$$$ you ve spent on it, I also have to give it to DJI for packing such a powerful platform on drone that can fit in your pocket.

practice, practice, practice 😂 One thing i started doing early on was to stop stabilizing my freestyle flights so i can see my mistakes and where i wasnt smooth enough in order to improve. Stabilization gave me a false sense of skill which i had to grow out off. Now i of course stabilise my cinematic footage in order to achieve this buttery look but my freestyle flights are still not stabilized. Hope that helps

One motor completely busted, couple of bolts, an arm and i am running out of ND8s lol. I already have it repaired but its WAY too hot here to fly atm

Surprisingly yes! Only the ND broke. To be honest after the sound it made when it pavement i expected that the action2 would not have survived. I have broken it with far less serious crashes before. I guess the new TPU mount i am using offers some better protection 😂

​@@eyeflytinkerings I used to have a mount from thingyverse but now i switched to one fromT4 3d Design. I added their discord channel in the video description if you want to pop by and ask for a custom design. I ve been using their mount for a couple months now and the owner of the channel frequently makes improvements and changes to the design for the better. I think its in a pretty good shape atm

Hey, appologies for the late response. For my chimera i used 4000mah custom made LiIon battery and for my apex 1300mah cnhl lipos. Hope that helps :)

I am glad you liked it mate. We recently discovered this place and i absolutely LOVE it. Its like a level in the simulator😂 I think one of the best things about FPV is that it kinda forces you to go out and explore more of our world😉

@@tooclosetothesun_fpv Interesting to hear that. I have a love/hate relationship with my 11 black. I don't like it in low light, I think my gopro bones performs better. But I love it in bright daylight, I think it dominates in the light. My friend has the 12, and it is pretty awesome that you can get a log file out of it, way more dynamic range than I can get out of the 11. What don't you like about the 11mini? your videos always look better than most, and I haven't noticed any decline in quality myself. But I know how much harsher I judge what I capture than others judge what I do lol.

@@BartManDude Well.. truth be told i feel that the 11mini footage looks muddier than the the footage from the hero8. You may not notice the decline in quality because i work harder in post to get the footage to look right, but i bet you will notice the upgrade when i post my 20minute long movie (soon 😅) which i thankfully filmed about a year ago with the hero 8. All in all i agree that in broad daylight with an ND16 the 11 mini looks sharp but as soon as the sun starts to drop or there are clouds it begins to show its weaknesses

@@tooclosetothesun_fpv I'm looking forward to seeing that. I just bought a used gopro 8 for $75 and made it naked. I'm waiting for the tpu to mount it. I'm excited to see the quality, I know I'm going to like the 24 gram weight. I'm just about to convert my 11 as well. I think it will be about 45 grams after. I LOVE the 10 bones for lower light and I will be curious to see how it compares to the 8. Have you considered getting an Action 4?

@@BartManDude I dont know how the 8 will compare to the bones as i ve never tried it but i dont think it will let you down. Although i ve been using the action2 for freestyle i am a bit of a sucker for the whole gopro--->reelsteady workflow and have been hesitant to mess with gyroflow as i am not that big of a fun of DJI cameras. Hadnt really had a chance to play with an action 4 yet though. Perhaps i will change my mind if i find one to try for myself

I cant talk about the Avata because i ve never tried it yet. This was filmed with the gopro 11mini which i don't particularly like. I Think i preferred my hero8 to be honest. However i film in a flat profile and do the colouring in post. What is it about the colours that you don't like if you don't mind me asking?

Thats right! I was planing to do the cinematic take on this spot for months now but i didnt have the opportunity to go there untill recently. Though i just couldnt pass the oportunity to rip some packs with my 5'' as well XD

its a fantastic spot indeed. However there are a lot of "death gaps" were there is no access too unless you start breaking walls down 🤣 Thank you for the kind words brother <3
