Obviously there are some trees, especially outside the big cities, in rural areas. There is even a forest - but if you compare the nature to other Mediterranean countries, its scarce and you do not find parks and streets lines with trees. For thousands of years? Sure but remember Malta is has changed a lot since then, and even the Knights of St Jahn, when they arrived, did not want to stay here as the land was not fertile. Greenery is a luxury in Malta, and it is very rare that you look through your window and see trees.

Yes, for me that is one of the biggest negatives - in comparison with other Mediterranean countries, the green spaces are very scarce..

They are called Roman Baths and were built in the Victorian era by the Brits.

The only way I can help anyone in your position is by trying to provide you with information. What is your level of English, education? What can you do? Your skills? What kind of job you are looking to get?

It depends on the area, in the northern cities one bed new built (cheapest option) would roughly cost 170k and 2 bed 230k. This is before you pay for the kitchen/bathroom etc. Gozo is much cheaper than Malta. To rent for 1 bed apartment in Sliema you need to pay around 1000 - 1200, Gzira maybe 800-1000, Msida, Sweigi and other locations would be cheaper but not cheaper than 700 Eur per month.

Studios are not easy to find as most apartments tend to be large, definitely larger than in the UK. Plus the prices rocketed in recent months, but I have friends who still managed to find a studio in Msida for 650 EUR, or in Gzira for 750 EUR.
