This is an excellent reminder that we do not just have to keep our students safe from violence, but also from the insidious forces that would impose minority beliefs on our public educators and their superior expertise and authority in terms of educational content and access to ideas. Just as we aggressively defend our children from violent acts, we need to defend them from intellectual assaults on their autonomy and their freedom to access any text or ideas they want. Champion our children and their free access to books and ideas. Defend them from parental attacks on their intellectual autonomy and curiosity.

YA PK. BEST SCIENCE TEACHER THERE IS. I used to hate science so much. But now since I have gone into his class this year I get excited because he lets us do things no just learn about them.

You are the reason I love science and the only reason I took more than the required number of science classes in high school. As a new teacher, you are a huge inspiration and force me to set a higher standard for myself.
