Hi mate, this was on main beach camping zone. Would recommend this area for a secluded spot but access can be difficult depending on tides.

Thanks guys, this was a great trip I really enjoyed it, loved it when you went straight past our holiday house on Russell Island, which we love, because it is so central to all these great trips. This really is a Fantastic area to explore and you're right, it is just like the Carribean, just not as many "Trump" flags on the back of the boats.🤣Another great place to visit is Tipplers on South Straddie, we have had some great times there over the years. Thanks again.

@@BD_TOURING random question, I’ve booked camping at flinders closest end towards adder rock. Do you have any idea if beach hotel etc is accessible from this area at high tide? And how far away it is? I’ve been to straddie plenty of times but never been down flinders area.

I'm not 100% sure on that one sorry mate but when we were there it did seem accessible at high tide. There was an inland track that covered a lot of the camp sites in that area. Everything on Straddie is pretty close together so shouldn't take too long if the tides permit. I hope that helps!

For fuck sake drop your tyre pressure to 15psi next time you come over to the island

All but 1 vehicle was on 15psi and that vehicle was due to a faulty gauge so we dropped it a few days in when we realised. We had to wait for numerous vehicle recoveries across the island. Thanks for your advice mate

There are public toilets, but can be pretty far depending on where you camp. There is phone service if you with Telstra. Optus users struggle to get a signal.

Hey mate, no we did not book anything in advance. Only thing was chilli beach because we wouldn’t t have service but still booked that the day of. Didn’t find we needed too but expect some of the popular spots to be full, especially around cairns and port Douglas. All those caravan parks were full and we struggled to find somewhere.

Hey mate, we headed up end of June until the end of July, only time we could get everyone together which unfortunately aligned with the school holidays but most places weren't too busy. Couldn’t agree more mate, few obstacles along the way but as we saw on our journeys plenty of near stock vehicles aside from the required mods giving it a crack. Great help from everyone around who’s always willing to lend a hand to those who appreciate it!
