I agree, this the best way to reduce time, but in my case, the realism is lost, that light bounce is gone, little disappointed but still, helped me to save 3-4 days of mine

wtf. this saved my life and my future marriage and my future kids future marriage. cant believe no one told med this before. I kinda wanna do some testing on what exactly you are missing out on by disabling. But for now its really a lifesaver, especially for animations with lots of frames wow.

saperate your objects into different render layers and then combine them using the alpha over(just remember to turn on transparent render here) or the add node and combine them in the compositor, and honestly if you are not working on an industry level then you can also reuce the max samples to about 100 (i am not kidding and i know what i wrote- "100"...you will get much smooth results
