Love my ds9! Mine is factory ported and I’ve only got about 300 rounds through it. I would say the factory porting did drop recoil 15-20%. I was very pleased that when I had it ported from factory for the $140 that it was a completely separate barrel and left me with 2 barrels…very nice for $140 bucks! Haven’t changed anything on it besides the porting. I agree that the 4.25 and 4.15 compact 2011/1911’s are easier to tune. I have an Apollo 11 that I have done pretty much everything to it including porting and it’s fantastic as well, but MPA is another level. Have a watchtower Apache pewview on order that should be here this week to compare. Great review and info & thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!

I’m also using shock buffer with no issues, but may pick up variable spring and see how that feels and try heavier hammer spring as I do have 19 and 20 on hand to try. I believe stock hammer spring is 16lbs.
@Heteachethmyhandstowar28 күн бұрын
@chefcg1966 Yes, my good friend at FunNGun youtube channel has the pewview Apache and the new demolition ranch gun from Watchtower. I have shot the pewview but have not shot the demolition ranch version. Although I did have to work on his demolitia a bit, and we decided he should send it back. Beautiful guns, for sure. Yeah 15% or so on factory ports. My larger ports almost doubled that I would say, but not sure. I have been trying to learn a lot lately about the 1911s. Worked on staccotto and several others. My kimber is awesome and I think it's funny most people dislike them, makes me making a cool one even more enjoyable. The masterpiece is really awesome, and I hope to shoot more cool 2011s soon.

The way you mentioned the recoil being more of a bounce is spot on. I dont get the quick flippy feeling im used to. And i personally love it. Usually my dot jumps out of frame but with the sig its just a little hop. Ive described it as almost dull or sluggish recoil but in a good way.

I am a retired combat veteran military. And a Combat arms MOS. I never go level 2 as a civilian It’s problem is law Enforcement person is always at 2 level 3 or more and they are probably looking at less trained personal with a loaded firearm. That a saftey thing and maybe they less trained needs more training to be on the team. They can be back up. Good luck on that.

nice I have a cobra and a justice 2 multi reticle as well. both have been super reliable and fun to shoot with. i would honestly trade off the top load battery feature for a bottom load on the justice 2 because the cobra sits so nice and low. i edc and compete with the justice 2 because its a little more rugged using 7075 alluminum and a thicker window then the cobra.

How does the staccato p slide to frame fit compare to your kimber?
@HeteachethmyhandstowarАй бұрын
@airmann4673 Kimber was tighter out of the box. That could be good or bad, depending on who you ask. The staccotto will be more reliable out of the box. Kimber and staccotto are almost identical in accuracy. Better part quality on staccotto.

You did not bump the slide lock, it was defective. Mine was doing the same thing, slide locking to the rear. It was also having a dead trigger after a shot and the slide was locked up. I couldn't just pull the slide back. I had to jam the front of the slide in order to open the slide. I took it back to Live Free Armory factory in Melbourne Florida ( I live in Orlando) and they supposed to fix the issue. They replaced the barrel and the slide lock/release. I took it to the range and fired 100 rd of steel case ammo and 50 rd brass case ammo. No problem. I switched magazines between Glock magazine and Magpul magazine it came with......no problem. I will continue to put more rounds down range. I won't feel comfortable until I hit about 1000 rounds without any issues.
