No,. Initially several years ago, it required five or 6 L of oxygen for me to walk 50 steps and I had to rest. But after continually exercising and building cardiovascular and lung strength two years ago, I started taking a one hour walk in in the mornings without oxygen support . I have continued that and walk every day at least an hour without oxygen and I am able to maintain a good heart rate and reasonable oxygen saturation. The other 23 hours of the day I use oxygen because I’m either in my home where the oxygen is free flowing from my concentrator, or I am exercising intensely where I must have Oxygen to exercise. My approach is not right for everyone, but it has worked extremely well for me.

I was diagnosed with IPF in 2018 and I am doing ok but I am looking for possibilities to improve. I just started to watch your video. Thank you for sharing this. You really don't take Esbriet or Pefinidone???
@leefogle43833 күн бұрын
No pharmaceutical drugs or Esbriet or Ofev. See my reply above to another question.
@juliannedix5 күн бұрын
I've read somewhere that you didn't take ofev is that correct? If yes what was your reasonings for not taking an antifibrotic? Thank you 🙏
@leefogle43833 күн бұрын
That is correct. I have not taken any pharmaceutical medication’s for my condition. When I read the medical studies for Ofev and Esbriet, I did not see a tremendous efficacy, as well as the side effects for many people I talked to were horrendous. In the PDF resource guide as well as in my book, I shared the study done by the Shanghai pulmonary hospital. They provided a set of three simple lung exercises to patients to help maintain pulmonary function and slow the decline Their study of 150 patients over a year demonstrated that the exercises were equally as effective as the anti fibrotic medications.. I chose personally to take a that approach. I started doing the Lung exercises about three years ago, twice a day and since then I have not lost any lung function and have actually on my recent pulmonary function test. The physician was surprised to see that I have a slight improvement in my PFT. my approach may not be right for everyone, but it has worked extremely well for me. One thing I detail folks who choose to take an anti-fibrotic, please do not just rely on that drug to slow the progression. Exercise eat sleep well and do Lung exercises also so that you can ensure that you maintain overall health.

Lee, thanks for everything. Your contributions to all of us fighting this condition. I try to reach on fb. Your story gave me something to look forward to. I'm 49 diagnosed in 2021. I didn't find any info positive on my conditions. I had the same emotions, feeling as you. Until recently searching for more info, I came across one of your breathing exercises. Now I follow you here on KZbin Thank you, and God bless you

I would like to know about what do you eat. What your nutrition consist on. What are your daily meals ?
@leefogle43836 күн бұрын
In the mornings after my walk, around 10 AM I have a cup of coffee which I blend in a blender with MCT oil, collagen peptide protein, Cordyceps mushrooms, Organic blueberry powder. Along with my coffee, I have two boiled eggs and a half cup of walnuts. Later I eat my main meal of the day at about 330 or 4 PM. That meal consists of about 45 g of protein from fish beef or chicken, as well as many different types of vegetables. Some green leafy vegetables, some colorful things like red and yellow, bell peppers broccoli, cabbage. I eat no processed foods, no rice or wheat or grains. The only oils I use are olive, avocado, or coconut. I eat large salads some days with salmon or chicken. After that main meal of the day, I do not eat again until the next morning when I have my coffee and two eggs. That ensures that I go to sleep at night with an empty stomach, which is the best way to go to sleep. when I have my coffee in the morning, I will typically have been 16 or 17 hours without any food and only water. I’ve been eating this way for many years and it works extremely well for me. I have lots of energy all the time.

Lee, I was recently enrolled in the IPF club. Slowly coming around to exercise, eating, and life style. I look forward to not allowing this to take my life. Mayo suggests I start taking a puff Rx… for now I will but hopefully can live w/o. I am already breathing better, walking for 1 hr a day. Thanks

I have interstitial lung disease for the past 37 years. Medically they keep trying to kill me. I used to get pumped up on prednisone until I could work out like a crazy man then get off it. This time around I am having to use oxygen. Two years of prednisone I have had enough and I refuse to take their last two drugs and wait and watch me die medical program. Have you looked at Serracor-NK and Serra-RX there was a 12 week study taking three times a day. If you want the study I will look it up again. IThe supplements are on Amazon. It seem to reduce the fluid in the lungs and improve some quality of life. I have another breathing test in two weeks. I am on week four and notice a reduction in the fluid in the lungs and I have good times that last longer during the day. I saw your videos and just wanted to put it out there. I own two low level lasers and understand the photon increases the mitrochondia in the cell. I would be interested on the four pulse rate setting.

Lee, I hear you! Having rec’d this dx 8-24-19, immediately put on oxygen and moved to Puerto Rico to have ocean air. I have done my best to stay active, walk, basic good nutrition, yet fell into a horrible black hole of depression Again this month. I am on OFEV to slow progression and have found a way to help my body use it with pre/probiotics, digestive enzymes, taking with healthy well balanced meal. I am interested in ur new therapy! Thank you for the inspiration you bring.

Hi Lee My husband was diagnosed back in April 2019 with IPF. He was on Nintedanib for three years and had to stop because it raised his blood pressure causing his AAA = abdominal aortic aneurysm to enlarge. After a six month break, he is now on Pirfenidone. He is on oxygen and deteriorating. I watch your KZbin videos with interest and you give us hope. I would love to hear of your laser treatment, please. Wish you all the best. God bless you. Best wishes Maureen 💕🙏

They diagnosed me with PF there has been sod all change after 2.5 years so after eventually coming to terms with the condition now they are not sure I still get out of breath so got to go all threw the tests again. Perhaps it's me lugging 30-40 suit cases each day into my coach perhaps that's what has helped me with my lungs. But I'll try your exercises . Anything to help has got to be a good thing.
