December 23, 1962 will live on in history as the final game ever for the Dallas Texans. The next year, the Texans moved to Kansas City and became the Chiefs.

I used to watch the Lou Saban show weekly. He had these cool magnets and some magic markers and would diagram plays. However, that "Half a loaf" comment was the beginning of the end for his coaching career in Denver. It would take a regime change for the Broncos to win more than they lost in a single season. So great to hear Bob Martin's voice - I can remember the one time I called his sports talk show on KOA radio - I might have been all of 13 or 14. He's a huge a part of my childhood memories of the dreadful Broncos finally turning the corner to respectability. At 31:51 you can see them launching what looks like an Estes rocket Saturn V kit. Anyone else remember these?

I just new San Francisco would win this one finally after what happened last 2 years, this one broke my heart,Dallas came in super bowl champs lookiñg to repeat.i always liked the way Landry ran his teams.man they would break the huddle, run to the scrimmage line, reposition, run the play . They flat out out hustled you.landry demanded that they make perfect effort every play.i was 13 years old @ the time, was so mad when I got home I killed one of my bikes with sledge hammer, she rest in peace.they say you should leave it on the field, but to this day I never got over this one

Those old Dolphins uniforms look better than the current uniforms. The colors are so nostalgic.

I remember watching this game clear as DAY as a 10 year old at my late grandfather's house with my dad while eating fresh OVEN roasted peanuts. Bob Trumpy losing it after they reversed the lateral brought back MEMORIES!!!!

Had Rich Gannon started the Chiefs would have won and likely made the Super Bowl
Take note of how many Hall of Famers were on the field that day!!!! Been a Raiders fan since 1973. I watched a lot of those games on NBC in Fresno , CA.

It's amazing what a bad kicking game can do for you. It cost the 49ers the game.

The names "Johnny" Roland & McArthur Lane fit their running style - Roland a smooth runner, Lane, a crashing runner with moves like a sports car!!!! Guess other teams had running backs like in Dallas: Duane Thomas ran like an Indy car crashing into defensive backs & Calvin Hill ran like a high hurdler jumping over defenders. Larry Brown & Ron Johnson ran like strong beasts but with grace & skill.....like a previous HOF Jim Brown. Those were some of the first exciting running backs to watch??? Have a nice day. Keep enjoying those great exciting runs so we can watch them years later on KZbin.

It seems that the Baltimore Colts are the only team in NFL history who could have gotten away with switching quarterbacks and championship games and actually winning the game

The Colts allowed Bert Jones to get himself killed at quarterback, the exact same thing that they allowed to happen to Andrew Luck. Bert Jones was the most talented quarterback to ever play in the national football league.

James Harris couldn't deal with the pressure of being one of the initial African American quarterbacks in the league. He had as much raw talent as Doug Williams. He simply didn't realize it.

The crowd noise was great at the Orange Bowl and the crap dual purpose stadium was almost silent. Some Dolfans don’t like Ross but he fixed it to bring the seats closer to the field and the fans can actually help now

This game showed how good of a QB Archie Manning was. The defense in 78 was still bad,but that offense could score on anyone.

God, I Miss Texas Stadium!!!!! Such A Magnificent Football Stadium to play in!!! The sunshine, and shade on half of the field, was so unique and made for Fantastic Views to watch an NFL Game!!! I don't remember the Cowboys losing too many games in Texas Stadium, prior to Aikman's retirement, with the exception of the 1988-89 seasons. Unlike the Monstrosity they play in now, AT&T!!! That stands for, (ALL THE TIME), WE LOSE HOME PLAYOFF GAMES!!!

I'm sixty six, a Bills fan, and really don't recall this game since it's so long ago, but I KNOW I've never, ever seen a game by ANY team where one team FUMBLES the ball the first FOUR times it touches it - literally. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This a back and forth offensive show.... Washington jumped up early... It looked like a Redskins rout, then the Raiders jump all over Washington, and looked like the Raiders had it sown up.... Then Washington rallied late to win.... I remember reading the point spread in the paper that morning in the Washington Post.... Skins were favored by 2 pts... Final score Skins 37-Raiders 35

Steelers fan here. This was a devastating loss. I was very proud to be a fan of the Steelers despite falling short. This was Dallas at their peak. Our time would come 10 years later. It was sad seeing a dejected Bill Cowher walking off the field and his post-game interview here. 10 years later he had his proud moment in Super Bowl XL!
