LSU is done. A lot of these SEC schools are going to figure out the hard way that NIL won’t go in their favor.

Kenny was a great interview. If I was a parent of a D1 recruit this is where I’d want to send him. This guy with this interview would make me want to run through a brick wall for him because I know how much he cares for those guys. God bless him and I will be watching more ASU football.

Solution. For all participants in conference championship games that are ranked 1-11 before the games are played, are all bumped up to the highest seedings available. So in this years example that would be 5 teams as SMU, and the two big 12 teams sit outside the top 11. They’re basically playing to get in the playoffs. Assuming all favorites win out the rest of the regular season: 1: Oregon 2: Ohio State 3: Texas 4: Reserved for BIG 12 championship winner 5: Alabama 6: Miami(7 if SMU wins the ACC Championship as SMU would jump to 3) No team listed can drop below a team that didn’t play in a conference championship game so the lowest they can drop to is 6. Miami can drop to 7 if they were to lose the ACC championship. That means at large teams like UGA, Ole Miss, Penn State cannot have a seed higher than 7. In all favorites win scenario, it would look like this after the conference championships: 1: Oregon 2: Texas 3: Miami 4: Colorado/BYU/Arizona State 5: Ohio State 6: Alabama 7: Penn State 8: Notre Dame 9: Ole Miss 10: UGA 11: Indiana/Tennessee 12: Boise State Only 1 G5 team gets in and they automatically gets the 12 seed and can’t go any higher. This way regular season record, big wins, bad losses, Strength of schedule, strength of record, and conference championship will all matter. Conference championship losers are still guaranteed a playoff spot if they were previously ranked high enough. Conference champs can still get in the playoff even if their ranking is low.

Have been thinking the same way as Josh for the last 3 years. I propose the SEC and Big Ten simply expand to 25 teams each. Eventually the SEC and Big Ten champs play a "title game". Even if there is a competing system the same amount of eyeballs are going to watch the SEC and Big Ten system and title game. But in all of this...what to do with bowl games. Seems bowl games have lost so much of their luster. Still worth have bowl games? I think perhaps but not so many....

The guy hasn’t played one single down of college football and we are putting coaches in their respective graves/pedestals. Please go look at the long list of 5 star qbs. The hit rate is roughly 50%. Also, Michigan’s ability to develop QBs isn’t exactly stellar, and they’ve have a bunch of 5 star qbs too. The important part of this story is actually the setting of the qb NIL market. The player is really irrelevant.

"We don't have a contract with the sec... ANYMORE" Yeah espn out bid you and suddenly they can't suck off the sec enough what a shock. You want an argument? Georgia St can't beat a sun belt team and they can beat Vandy. Oklahoma St can't beat anything but a DUI charge and their meat and oh yeah Arkansas. Those teams both upset "playoff contenders" if your schedule is the playoff you lost to someone that can't make it... You're out. Texas has a worse schedule than either Indiana or Penn st. If they're the best the sec has then the sec gets 1 team maybe Georgia since they beat that 1 team. Cal beat Auburn at home. USC beat LSU and you guys wouldn't shut up about how LSU was going to make the playoffs two weeks ago. We had all sec playoffs and that's why Bama Georgia always wins. Scott Frost's UCF was a better team than Nick Saban's "lose to Auburn don't play in the conference championship and still get in because there's no bias" bama

Suggested Formula for College Football Playoffs 1)Go to 16 Teams as follows: 2)All major conferences (Power 4) go back to divisions. Champ of each Division auto qualifiers (8) 3)Champion of each power 4 conf gets week 1 buy 4)Top rated conference overall (Based on overall strength of schedule AND OUT OF CONFERENCE RECORD)gets an additional 2 qualifiers (2) 5)Top 2 non power 4 teams qualify (2) 6)3 at large teams selected based on formula emphasizing strength of schedule and record (3). NOTE- Teams not eligible to play in a conference championship (read independents)must play an additional 13th game OR be ranked in top 8 to qualify) 7) Final team selected based on criteria of “hottest available team” (emphasis on second half / most recent trend)(1). This allows for a particularly packed conference to (in theory) get as many as 8 qualifiers (2 auto, 2 additional, 3 at large and 1 hottest team). Although HIGHLY unlikely! Typical season would see top conference get 4 -5 qualifiers (2 auto, 2 additional, perhaps 1 at large). Next best power 4 would still likely get 3-4 (2 auto, 1-2 at large or hottest team) This also protects non-power 4 by guaranteeing 2 qualifiers. It also keeps entire season for all top 25 teams relevant by providing a mechanism for a team that matures late, or gets hot with some big top 25 wins. (Think South Carolina this year). Bottom line is that you remove downside of playing in conference championship, give maximum flexibility to insure top teams and match-ups (regardless of what conference a team is in), removes any advantage of not being in a conference, AND reduces likelihood a deserving team is left off.

I think my favorite part about the decommitment was how the family was “insulted” that they would simply take the highest bid, and then lo and behold…that is what they did.
@whyhasgooglemessedwithmych1423Сағат бұрын
Both things could be true. It could not just be about the money. But end the end they accept the most money. It just means that the non monetary conditions were met. Let me give you an example. Bryce was worried about being developed. Michigan no doubt addressed that by saying they would get him a good QB coach and dev him to the fullest. He was worried about Michigan being a run centric offense. Michigan could have addressed that by saying, hey if you come here we will open up the aerial offense. hopefully you can see that it literally was not just about the money. But... The family and Bryce are not stupid they are also going to make sure that they get the most possible. The first line of thinking is checkers. The family is playing chess making strategic moves.
