Like others have mentioned, the video is glitching at the 7:25 mark. Downloaded version has the same issue, so seems to be a problem with the source.

So, I attended this talk and have mixed feelings about it. I have not seen any of the "Fast and Furious" movies, and do not know (much, if at all) about serverless. I went to the session to learn about it (serverless, not the movies), and ...I didn't. I guess it must be a fun analogy if you know both. But if you don't, it's kinda pointless. So, I think it should probably come with a warning that it's based on an analogy, that the whole talk will be devoted to unfold the analogy, and you will not learn about the technology itself. Because I am sure it's enjoyable for people who know what they are signing up for.

Why does he suggest to NOT use the official selenium-webdriver.js ?
@jonahss
@jonahss 6 жыл бұрын
because it is based on the java implementation of the client, and isn't as friendly towards more modern javascript patterns such as promises and async-await. Now I suggest using webdriverio

In my opinion you are relying too much in an app requiring a backend server. What if I want a totally offline application? Should I use a server for somethign that I can do entirelly in client?

Howdy, folks! Speaker, here. I didn't do a great job repeating those questions at the end and they're a little hard to hear. Here's what was asked w/ approximate timestamps: 47:05 - "Is there a preferred IDE for Meteor?" 47:45 - "Are there any big companies/names using Meteor in production?" 48:38 - "What are the security implications for Meteor and how is that handled?" 49:50 - "Would you say Meteor is a good option for building Rest API services?" 50:40 - "Can you deploy a Meteor application to other environments (don't recall the specific service asked about)?" If *you* have any questions, you can find me on Twitter @themeteorchef or email me directly [email protected]. Thanks for watching :)
