Like others have mentioned, the video is glitching at the 7:25 mark. Downloaded version has the same issue, so seems to be a problem with the source.

This is such a good intro, it should be more widely shared across the Svelte community.

need to see how multiple sessions of chess are handled, thats core of any multiplayer game and very hard to find any examples. 1v1 for full server is 123

So, I attended this talk and have mixed feelings about it. I have not seen any of the "Fast and Furious" movies, and do not know (much, if at all) about serverless. I went to the session to learn about it (serverless, not the movies), and ...I didn't. I guess it must be a fun analogy if you know both. But if you don't, it's kinda pointless. So, I think it should probably come with a warning that it's based on an analogy, that the whole talk will be devoted to unfold the analogy, and you will not learn about the technology itself. Because I am sure it's enjoyable for people who know what they are signing up for.

It seems like a great talk, but the video is messed up for me unfortunately after 7:25.

this is the coolest talk I watched this year, probably since ever. Don't know why it doesn't have more views though, people just probably scared of "sockets"

Why does he suggest to NOT use the official selenium-webdriver.js ?
@jonahss6 жыл бұрын
because it is based on the java implementation of the client, and isn't as friendly towards more modern javascript patterns such as promises and async-await. Now I suggest using webdriverio

In my opinion you are relying too much in an app requiring a backend server. What if I want a totally offline application? Should I use a server for somethign that I can do entirelly in client?

Great stuff! In the same boat as you were! :) Also... what about images? Upload images and place in chat area with ability to toggle full-screen on click/touch? Also... the "always updated" feature is screaming at me for some sort of inventory control app... ! :)

Howdy, folks! Speaker, here. I didn't do a great job repeating those questions at the end and they're a little hard to hear. Here's what was asked w/ approximate timestamps: 47:05 - "Is there a preferred IDE for Meteor?" 47:45 - "Are there any big companies/names using Meteor in production?" 48:38 - "What are the security implications for Meteor and how is that handled?" 49:50 - "Would you say Meteor is a good option for building Rest API services?" 50:40 - "Can you deploy a Meteor application to other environments (don't recall the specific service asked about)?" If *you* have any questions, you can find me on Twitter @themeteorchef or email me directly [email protected]. Thanks for watching :)
