Today, after 12 years, someone asked me about the loss of my home. I’ve never seen the videos or photos from that time. But a friend asked me to look them up, and it has left me feeling deeply saddened. Finally facing the aftermath of losing your home in a wildfire is like reopening an old wound. Watching the flames consume homes, knowing one of them was yours, brings back that deep, heavy-hearted feeling of loss and disorientation. It's a mix of reliving the pain and bracing yourself for what you'll see, but also a step towards healing and coming to terms with the past. I never thought I'd be able to see the aftermath videos. The tears I’ve held back are now falling freely from my eyes. 5430 Majestic Dr is the address of the home my 3 children and I lost.

Wilkinson Jr. went through Oklahoma as well after they split up. He came across Webber Falls on the Arkansas River. Wilkinson Sr., the General, was a spy for Spain known by them as "Agent 13". Was it a coincidence that after the group split Pike would be taken into custody by the Spanish?

He looks so healthy, yet he died only two weeks after this video was recorded. A pity he wasn't with us longer, and I'm sad that I didn't find out about him until 30 years after his death. Without this man, the world wouldn't have known of Lawrence of Arabia, as well as so many fascinating personalities who are less well-known now, such as Count Luckner, who fought a successful seagoing campaign in WWI without taking a single life. Lowell Thomas brought a world of adventure to America with his writings on the first round the world flight, travels in Afghanistan, and the first U-boat war, and went on to be a pioneer in broadcasting.

Awesome. Trying to share with many now. Were Bell and Palmer listed? Bell surveyed with Palmer and paid for the homestead of our homes property in 1864. No house was built until 1914 under Joseph and Rosa Wilson ownership. Bell sold off the property after selling 2 railroad right of ways. I think he probably had insider information about the railroads coming through. I did not realize Fountain was called Junction City. Our home is very near the Jimmy Camp junction with what is now known as Fountain Creek!

Thank you for commenting, Cora. I looked through the El Paso Claim Club records and didn’t see any transactions for a Mr. Bell. However, the Canon City Claim Club records do show a Samuel Bell purchased land in 1861, and acted as an Administrator for the Anderson & McDonald estate. I also found one 1863 Quit Claim Deed for an Ezra Bell in my Pueblo archive. Regarding references to Palmers, there’s one Quit Claim Deed in the El Paso Claim Club records from 1860 for a Frank Palmer. Besides that, I see no other Palmers mentioned in the Canon City Claim Club record books or in Pueblo’s oldest records either, before 1867 at least.
@CoraSimpichАй бұрын
@@larryobermesik165 interesting. The Bell is a recorded deed in 1960 era. I will need to check my records for the first name that I think it is William. It is the same guy that had the Craftwood Inn in Manitou. 1964 is date I remember.

youtube recommended this to me. i liked your narration. i would have preferred the visuals were improved a bit - show a line of his path, and maybe change the map to a terrain map instead of an all white state map.
