Spartans had homosexuality in their ranks. Vikings took women with them on their raids.
@CommanderShepard-wq3wo19 сағат бұрын
Agreed. If it’s army vs army, yeah, the Spartans would win 8/10. If it’s one on one the Viking would win 6.5/10 I say that because from the age of 7, Spartans were trained to be the most elite soldiers of the ancient world. Their discipline in the art of combat was 2nd to none. Whereas most Viking were farmers, fishermen, hunters etc. who went in raids. Don’t get me wrong, Vikings had some of the best and respected warriors the world have ever seen. But they didn’t have that warrior/soldier mentality as much as the Spartans. What does give the Viking a slight edge over a single Spartan is their cleverness to find weak spots in their opponents and able to move quickly. And of course their weapons. It’s bronze vs. steel. Yeah, the Viking has huge advantage there.

There were two Mongol invasions to Hungary. The first one is in 1241 which was a disaster for the country but big military loss for Mongols. That's why they left the country, not for the Khan's death. In the Chinese and Mongolian archive there are new proofs for it. The second invasion was in 1285 wich ended total Mongol defeat.

The Mongol invasion was halted because of the Khan's death. If the Khan had not died, then the Mongols would have conquered whole Europe.

Joke😂 Mongols just returned home as perhaps Europe was not worth to invade.
@kaptaan_original19 күн бұрын
The only reason the Mongols halted their advance on Europe was because the Khan passed away, and his senior leaders returned home to mourn and decide on a successor. Europe was saved from total defeat by the Khan passing away.
@kboid591919 күн бұрын
so Mongols didn't attacked Hungary and Poland and didn't get defeated? It was just a dream?
@gergelyoskolas18218 күн бұрын
That was the first invasion decades before the defeated one. The one you are referring to was in 1241 and the other in 1285.
@kboid591918 күн бұрын
@@gergelyoskolas182 So, since Poland and Hungary already once stopped Mongols, and fortified their cities, why do you assume if not for the passing of the Khan, Mongols would definitely conquer Europe?
@KevinMcgovern-c1d18 күн бұрын
You can't say Hungary crushed the Mongols they stopped them the Mongols army was not suited to mountains n heavily fortified castles. The same thing happened in China when they hit the mountains the horse army swift advance did not work but kubalai. Or Quibali khan adapted n conquered China n even Tibet Yunnan n west schizhuan.. but it's funny coz now Hungary is a baddie. N the 1st real cruskjng blow in Europe was the Russian defeat of the Mongols that ended 220yr of Mongol rule in the vast plains of modern Ukraine Poland n eastern Hungary.. . Two modern baddies.. haha 😂

Nope! It started as personal bodyguards for consuls or praetors leading an army, handpicked from among regular legionnaries. Consuls and praetors are of praetorian ranks and during a military campaign they lived in a praetorium tent within a camp, hence the name praetorian guards. They are already exist before the emperors. Republican commanders like Scipio, Sulla, Marius, Paullus, Flaminius, Pompeius, Crassus, Caesar, etc. had their own praetorian guards. And each of triumvirs of the 2nd triumviri had their own praetorian guards. THAT notorious Praetorian Guards this video is talking about was the result of Augustus formalizing his own cohorts (from 'his' civil war time) as a permanent military force inside Rome, based on his propraetorian authority.
