I am currently in Canada and I would like to study nursing. Are there schools that do not require prerequisites for accelerated nursing program? I am asking because I don’t have all the prerequisites. Your response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello, thank you so much for subscribing and it's great to have you here. Yes, some schools do not require prerequisites. lakehead university is one of them, with your science background, you just need WES to convert your degree and apply if you have a good CGPA from your previous degree. I hope I answered your question. Please Feel free to send a message or ask more questions as needed.

@rnbadge9 ай бұрын
@@cynthiabenjamin6515 hello Cynthia. Just seeing this. To switch from studying business education to nursing in Canada as an international student, you typically need to follow these steps: 1. Research Nursing Programs: Look for nursing programs at Canadian universities or colleges that accept international students. 2. Meet Admission Requirements: Check the specific admission requirements for the nursing programs you are interested in, which may include prerequisites such as Biology, Chemistry, and English courses. 3. Apply for Admission: Submit applications to the nursing programs of your choice through the proper channels. 4. Obtain Study Permit: If accepted, you will need to apply for a study permit for the nursing program. 5. Transfer Credits: If you have completed any relevant coursework in business education, inquire about the possibility of transferring credits to the nursing program. 6. Fulfill Other Requirements: Depending on the program, you may need to meet health requirements, undergo background checks, or provide proof of language proficiency. 7. Start Nursing Program: Once accepted and all requirements are met, you can begin your nursing studies. It's advisable to consult with the admissions office of the universities or colleges offering nursing programs in Canada for detailed guidance tailored to your specific situation.

Hi ma'am can I apply with my WAEC result 😢
@rnbadge11 ай бұрын
Hello, for the accelerated program you might need a first degree. To pursue a nursing career, a Nigerian WAEC result would generally not be sufficient on its own. Typically, international credentials need to be assessed by designated organizations to ensure they meet Canadian standards. It's essential to contact the nursing regulatory body in the province where you intend to work to understand the specific requirements for international applicants. I hope this answers your questions

University of British Columbia does not accept international students
@rnbadge Жыл бұрын
Hello, the University of British Columbia (UBC) does indeed accept international students for their nursing program. UBC's School of Nursing welcomes applications from both domestic and international students. The university provides support and resources to help international students navigate the application process and ensure a smooth transition into the program. You can also check their website for the fees for international students as well. If you're considering applying as an international student for the nursing program, I recommend reaching out to the admissions office or the School of Nursing at UBC for specific information regarding the application process and requirements.

Can a RN in USA register herself in Alberta?
@rnbadge Жыл бұрын
Hello☺️, To practice as a registered nurse (RN) in Alberta, Canada, one would typically need to be licensed by the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). This process usually involves meeting specific educational, language proficiency, and examination requirements. For an RN from the USA to practice in Alberta, you would likely need to meet the licensing requirements set by CARNA. These requirements may include an assessment of your education and credentials, and possibly completing additional examinations or training to meet Canadian standards. I recommend contacting CARNA directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding this process.

Awesome,👏 glad you passed the nclex. It’s truly a sigh of relief after the preparation and seeing that you made it to the other side. After writing the nclex I realized that what was ahead of me was better than what was left behind. I tell people that The main goal is not how many times they wrote the nclex but who they are as nurses today and how they are practicing as a nurse (are they empathetic, compassionate and ready to listen to their patients? Are they giving out safe care and are they happy to be nurses? ) If yes, then that’s what matters at the end. I wish you all the best now that you are a nurse. ❤️☺️

@@brendasamantha256 NorQuest College in Canada is well-regarded for its nursing programs. It offers practical and comprehensive training, and it's known for preparing students for successful careers in the field of nursing. Additionally, the college often has strong connections to the local healthcare industry, providing valuable opportunities for hands-on experience and career placement. However, I'd recommend researching and maybe calling their nursing college / visiting the school and enquiring directly since you live in Edmonton to ensure it aligns with your expectations and goals.

Thank you so much. Nclex high yield is a page on KZbin handled by someone called dr zee. When preparing for the NCLEX, it's important to focus on high-yield topics that are commonly tested. Here are some key areas they help you to prioritize: 1. they help you Understand the major drug classes, their uses, side effects, and nursing considerations. 2. Pay attention to common medical conditions, surgical procedures, and nursing interventions for various body systems. 3. Review concepts related to prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care. 4. Familiarize yourself with growth and development milestones, common pediatric illnesses, and nursing care for children of different age groups. 5. Learn about mental health disorders, therapeutic communication techniques, and psychosocial interventions. 6. Understand how to prioritize patient care based on acuity, delegate tasks effectively, and manage time efficiently. 7. Know the principles of infection prevention and control, including standard precautions, transmission-based precautions, and hand hygiene. Remember, the NCLEX is designed to assess your critical thinking skills and application of nursing knowledge. Practice with sample questions and review rationales to reinforce your understanding. Good luck!
