Nice boat! Just curious why you went around to Cat Harbor and didn’t pick one of the other harbors on the east side? 4th July Cove, Cherry Cove, etc?

Hello Eric...thanks for sharing your adventure. You might pick up a book 'Anchoring at Catalina ' by Marc Hughston, detailed info on all the coves. Also he operates a school out of Long Beach, Santana Sailing, and has a day long anchoring clinic. Will give you confidence. Dave SV Wild Air, MDR

Not sure what your longer-range cruising plans are but if it's not too late you may want to consider mounting solar panels over the cockpit in lieu of a bimini.
@SailingSea-renityАй бұрын
Yes, I have a long term plan for additional solar. But I always welcome any and all suggestions. Hope all is going good in Mexico.
@keeldraggerАй бұрын
@@SailingSea-renity Things have been going well in Mex. The reason I mentioned solar is because it's top of mind for me. I have 700 watts and I'm still running the engine every couple of days to keep up with electronics, fridge, and watermaker. Of course I can turn the electronics off and reduce the need for auxiliary charging.

@SailingSea-renity2 ай бұрын
@ well I have owned a lot of powerboats and sailboats and there’s something about putting the sail up and turning the motor off and just relaxing ….always makes me enjoy sailing a little bit better. However, anytime on the water is a good time.

It’s wonderful that you made time to spend with your dad especially after hearing about wife’s issue. We all need to cherish the little moments. We have a 42 also and a couple comments. Good call on tethering your bbq valve. Don’t ask me why😁 When we motor in rolly seas we keep the main up firm and set the traveler to weather to apply pressure on the sail.
