Truly devastating. Many years ago I had to spray potatoes on a farm near Holme on Spalding Moor when the Foulness had burst its banks.That was bad that year helicopter s were given permission to spray for blight ,but it was all too late .That was bad but doesn't even to start to compare with this .I really do feel it for the farmers. Brilliant footage again Andy.

@@ANDYOLDRIDGEFARMINGVIDEOS true, grandad George was manager for Major Bros, they had farms all round Goole. Dad was born at Percy Lodge, moved across to Ayrmyn Grange, then on the common, Crowle moors which is now Barker's, I've lot's of happy memories of the stories they told. We've kept it going, my Son was at Crowle grange with John Johnson and them Moore's at butterwick and the co-op. We're ready pleased that grandson Ben is in his second year at bishop Burton. I hope he keeps his enthusiasm, he's doing three days at college and four at work, he's not had a day off in ages,, he went in Christmas day and boxing day to feed up.

In those bigger fields wouldn't it be better if you cut to nearly center and cut counter clockwise . That would eliminate all that turning and it would keep the header in the grain. I've did some basic math it it looks like it would save 7% of fuel and time! About $500.00 a day per combine!
@ANDYOLDRIDGEFARMINGVIDEOS10 ай бұрын
If you say so Mobey, well done for working out the maths 😊

@@ANDYOLDRIDGEFARMINGVIDEOS Actually, I know it's more efficient, we did it years ago but we didn't have 40' heads. We never tried it on Wheat or Rapeseed because we didn't grow that. But for Sunflower, Soybeans; crops that didn't need sub soiling or bedding it saved on Fuel time and eliminated tire wear issues.

HI Julian Yes it’s impressive watching the combine driver steer the tractor from the combine seat 😳😳 when you see it in the flesh it’s really cool.
