Real question, have you worked in F1, or other racing category? It absolutely amazes the stellar racing analysis you can lay for us viewers! Like there's no way you don't have a background in the area. And if not, oh boy, they don't know the talent they are missing. Didn't got the chance to watch the race, but know I how it went. Spetecular video! There is no other like it! 👏🔥

Unfortunate miscalculation by Mercedes, but Russel will get more chances. The contrast with 2023 and Verstappens comeback that year is insane. I feel like this season is going to be one of the great ones with how the balance is shifting all the time.

whatever the reason, Norris should have been told to stay in P1. 7 points closer to max. McLaren quit on the drivers' championship, 2 races before the summer break. racing 101. constructor's points are the same. and oscar a second-year rookie almost takes out the P2 teammate in drivers' championship. Oscar needs to be a team player and Mclaren needs to learn how to win as a team. not half team.

My monkey brain only saw chaos. Now things make sense. At first I thought Norris had the gap he had only because of the pit, and I was fully on the side of they should switch, now I know he actually open the gap and agree he shouldn't had done it. It may bite him back at the future, he may need those points. The overall picture i see is: There is no well round team now. Mercedes has had struggles developing the car, now seem better; RedBull looks like having trouble setting the car and team overall seems weakened, like it could crounble at any moment; McLaren making some bad decisions on strategies; Ferrari... Ferrari. So McLaren and Mercedes may be the ones fighting in the second half of the season, as they seem to have "fewer" problems to solve and two good drivers able to score point, but as the papaya is quite ahead, the WCC is only a matter if Perez can figure himself out or not, if not it may end up with the brits. And for Drivers it will be a fight for who is the best even with problems, Max or Lando. Am I crazy or does this make sense? I never took much of analytic approach a season.
@tracksideanalytics
@tracksideanalytics 22 күн бұрын
This all makes absolute sense. Everyone is making mistakes, no matter where their car is at the moment. McLaren have to learn to make the right calls at the front to succeed consistently. Mercedes seem to have an understanding of how their package works finally, but they sometimes make such foolish decisions, that one might question if they ever really had it together, or it was just a superior machinery for 8 years.. As for Red Bull.. They have gone into a direction in terms of development that they cannot undo and will have to work with throughout the rest of the season. Max is no stranger to fight above the car limitations, but it clearly hurts to loose that 2023 ease that he could drive with. So now all is left for him to cool down a bit and once again try to take advantage of when the McLaren's are making mistakes. As much as Mclaren needs to learn how to fight at the front, Red Bull has to realize that they cannot overtake like it was nothing anymore and adapt strategies accordingly.

For a season that looked finished at the winter testing, it's been surprisingly unexpected. Looks like everyone is getting what they deserve. Charles Monaco Win. Lando first win. Lewis 300 race curse break and at his second home (no one can't convince me he isn't Brazilian, except that 2008 season, but we ignored that). George win, Carlos unemployed win. We just need some more random wins. Nico, Alonso, Yuki, Ocon, fucked it even Logan. This season could still give more surprises. Sorry, have been doing isane amounts of hopium after Iron Dames dnf this weekend. t-t Great analysis as usual. :D

Every time there's a list of greatness or highest something, it's truly mind boggling how Fangio still shows up in almost all of them. With so little number of races back them, by sheer number of races nowadays it would be expected Fangio would fall back on list's of sort. Of course, now it's not the case, for being a percentual analysis but still, Fangio was an absolute monster on a car. And it's not like people could say he won by the car he drove. I would say bring the points closer for the win as this was discussed in the 2010 season when the points changed as if they used to old points system back in 2009 the championship would of been much tighter
@tracksideanalytics
@tracksideanalytics 2 ай бұрын
Yes, I agree that this would keep the title fight prospect at bay for longer, and perhaps all those mid-season developments would have a bigger impact on the championship as a result. I suspect though, that even if the FIA decides to reduce the gap, they'll not go back to 2 points, to maintan the 'importance' of a race win.
@RalphGNL

These videos are really high quality, I'm glad the algorithm pushed this channel in my feed. On topic: for me; the plan of the FIA to expand the points system still echoes the ongoing cold war between the FIA and FOM to expand the grid. Expanding the points scoring positions to P12 would only make sense if one/two extra teams would enter F1.
@tracksideanalytics
@tracksideanalytics 2 ай бұрын
Such a great point! There's certainly an interesting dynamic between the two sides and I haven't thought of this yet, but this could indeed be used as one of the bargaining chips on the FIA's side to extend the grid 🧐

They are cautious for sure, and at times they may be overdoing it. But they are at least trying to evolve with these new concepts, as undeveloped as they may be now, they know how bad it looks that wet tires exist but are never used and that fans want to see proper racing in such conditions that are otherwise not an issue in other racing categories.

One of the key questions indeed! Appearantly it takes substantial time to take these covers off, so pitstops could happen either by red flagging the session (which would be slightly strange) or by mandating a minimum pitstop time for each time e.g. a minute or so. But these are just my guesses. 🙂
