I wanna sincerely thank you for your channel .I wanted someone to post this game for years cause I loved the northwestern 1995 and 1996 seasons. Other than stephen barnett channel your the best channel for old college games on youtube .You have been posting classics in the 90's. I do hope you post the michigan 1996 season next mainly for the penn state, northwestern and my favorite ohio state michigan game of all in 1996 when michigan made ohio state choke again in back to back years. Keep up what your doing and thank you so much.

I'm certainly glad you enjoy my content. I pretty much have every game in the Lloyd Carr era and will post them. It will be slow overtime. It has taken me 25 year to amass my collection so once they're all uploaded I'm done so I will do it slowly. I really respect Northwestern of this era. Barnett & Walker were such great coaches. It would be akin to Vanderbilt completing with Goergia and Alabama.

Ah yes, PASS Sports. The original Fox Sports Detroit now Bally's Sports (for some crazy reason). I remember getting flyers from them at the stadium. This was a nice warm fall afternoon. First half was like a dream, third quarter was a nightmare!

These old games can be tough to watch, but in a way they are the unbiased account of said game. You can watch a film then compare it to a Granland Rice article and it's like reading the book and watching the movie.

Born and raised in the state. Went to a different University MTU. My earliest Michigan Football memory was when I was 6, the family had a wedding to attend on a Saturday which must have been at the same time as a Michigan game. Halfway to the wedding dad had to stop driving when the game got close late while he listened on the radio. As I think of it I never did figure what game it was, but I probably could figure it out.

This is after Jack Buck had been fired by the Cardinals to make room for another announcer though Buck still worked for KMOX, owned by CBS. So the CBS employee worked for ABC for a few years (including AFL games).

Brutal 90+ degree heat. Momentum kept shifting until Virginia scored late in the second quarter. My family and I almost left early in the 4th. 'If we don't score here we'll go.' Well, they did and we stayed to the very end! Hail Hayes! Mercury's finest hour.

I may have attended this game: UM hosted Oregon as many as 2 times (?) in the early 1970s. Ik I attended a game vs Iowa for sure but my recall about attending a game vs Oregon is not certain.

🔥: Heavily favored KSU didn't subdue AsSt till there were about 10 minutes left. Snyder used his star CB on offense to help win. KSU was heavily favored and did not cover the spread. 🙄

Lucky: attended that game as a kid. The Michigan Stadium home program featured CU's Dave Logan (still the radio voice of NFL Broncos). I only remember the day was mostly sunny and the score was lopsided in Michigan's favor. This was the last-ever game I recall seeing at Michigan Stadium. In the era b4 the venue was called "TheBigHouse." As late as 1974, not every home game was a sellout.

Yes, most of what ABC sports saved came from there New York studio. Most of the big three networked saved sporting events would have been recorded in new york.

Just as CBS had FINALLY hit its groove and truly gotten their coverage down, it was gone. It really would've been interesting to see how things would've been different had they retained the league coverage even for just a few more years. NBC basically had the edict from David Stern to emphasize MJ and it worked.
