Ok Jim , have to ask ! It’s been over 2 months of silent videos .. did someone kidnap you or hijack your page ? Been watching your channel for years and always listened to your vids on my long commute to work , but this silent stuff is killing me and makes me want to sleep ..💤. If you are being held hostage and forced to make these silent videos please send us a sign 😂.

I have noticed a real change in the fishing this year as well and not for the good. I don’t know what is going on but all the local places I go seem to have shut down, picked up one or two now and then but nothing like it usually is. My fishing buddy and I even went on a guide trip to lake Nocomixon, spent 4 hrs on the water and not a nibble.
@JerseyJimFish2 ай бұрын
@@williamcrawford4257 While I can't speak for these locations, I have noticed a marked reduction in fish stocks in certain lakes. Predatory birds have never been so plentiful in these remote places I frequent.

Hey Jim , if you have one try a small spinner bait/ paddle tail combo .. The last few weeks I've caught multiple bass over 3 lbs and a chunk 4.5 all from walking banks of my local , over fished , South Jersey slop holes. Tight lines pal !

There a cheaper way boss ! Pour thin layer of aluminum in your mold . Then shove as much metal steal shaving , nuts , bolts as a filler for weight . Finished pour with aluminum . Work fast and alway keep the mold hot too while you working . You will have to change your mold design . I used cut round steel pipe about 1.5 - 2 inch round by 3/4 inch tall . Steel scrap & little liquid aluminum is cheap ! Good luck

You should read the regulations in New Jersey. It is unlawful to release snakehead. Bad example for other anglers. Thumbs down 👎🏻.
@JerseyJimFish2 ай бұрын
Firstly, thanks for your comment. I wrestle with this very concept EVERY time I catch a snakehead. Here is my thinking... I am not the hand that brought this unwanted inhabitant here. Yet, I am told that if I merely interact with the subject, I am to kill it on sight. Hmmm. I harvest as many as I can each year in order to cull this now fully endemic "evil monster'. The problem is that morality and ethics won't let me kill one unless I know it will be eaten by my friends and family. As I am an accomplished fish cutter, no other hand will process the fish that I CHOOSE to take. Buddy, I just don't have that much time. Lastly, the State is mandating that I kill something? Historically speaking, strict adherence to the state mandating such things has been bad. Unfortunately, Xscarx, each angler has discretion. The "State" is responsible for the snakehead being here. The State. Not me. Not you. Years ago, I would have almost singlehandedly pulled that bandwagon you are on. After countless hours of contemplation and years of being in the field, I am 100% OK with your critique of my actions.
@xShadowXscarx2 ай бұрын
@@JerseyJimFish You’re welcome. The State is not responsible for this particular invasive species. Sadly, irresponsible people are. Even if you kill the animal and leave it in nature, it does not go to waste. It will feed the ecosystem (of which humans make up the least percentage of) and help anglers be able to enjoy catching their favorite species. In my opinion, and with all due respect, I think your morality is from the wrong perspective. I humbly request that such blatant disregard for the law should be edited out of the video so there is no bad example shown. Good conversation, enjoy the outdoors 😃

That lure looks really good ! I think if you threw that at night /early morning along the edges of some of those places you fish you would be pleasantly surprised 👍 I agree with the above comment that during the day a pike or musky would smash that
@JerseyJimFish3 ай бұрын
@Mj-bg2uj Do muskie hit at night? Pickerel shut down completely at night, and boy-howdy have I tried.😆 (I'm making a big threadfin or gizzard shad currently for those lakes I fish. 🤫Shhh.😆) Thanks for the comment, Mj.😁

@@JerseyJimFish during the summer months 95% of my fishing is done at night and I’m targeting big bass with big topwater baits or 5-7 inch glides/ Swim baits.. most of the fish we catch at night are bass , however we have caught numerous big pickerel at night .. last year I was standing in the water at night throwing a 6 inch swimbait and I was just about to lift it out of the water and a big pickerel blasted it .. scared me half to death 🤣. Most of the south Jersey waters I fish don’t have musky but those fish are such predators I can’t imagine a hungry musky not eating a meal at night sometimes , even if it’s not the norm .

@scottoswald2588 I have so many questions. Yes, I was there looking for Suillus mushrooms. It is very quiet there as well. The bogs flooded in the spring for weed control, or is it advantageous for the plants production? Or for some other reason? Thanks for your comment, Scott.😁
@scottoswald25883 ай бұрын
@@JerseyJimFishI knew it was your jeep! they are flooded in the spring because it still gets cold enough in the spring to frost and damage the crop, so they are flooded to keep them protected from the frost . And now we are flooding them to float them up to be harvested :)

@scottoswald2588 It seems so... in your face, logical. I drive that corridor frequently.
