Don’t you have to talk about the clearance between the landing gear and rear tires?? To make sure there’s room while backing.

This is the method that we teach in Kansas and the order that the DMV wants to go. Once you have learned all the parts you can break it up in your own way. But this is the way we do it here.

I failed the CDL test at Vegas DMV because the lady said I wasn't saying why I was inspecting the parts. Examples given were: why inspect the leaf spring. - a damaged leaf spring could cause a rollover. why inspect the wiper blades - a frayed wiper blade can impair vision. I've never heard we had to explain why we are inspecting - just what we are inspecting and what we are looking for. She also said I missed "entire sections" but I missed none. I covered everything on the check list sheet provided and more. In my final CDL school test I scored 100% and I did even better at the DMV. I could tell she was going to fail me just from her attitude at the start. - WW

Thanks for your feed back! We hope this video helps. It does sound like you picked up on the jest of things. The basic idea is they want to know that you know the items to inspect, what your inspecting for and how to inspect properly. Keep up the good work. Update us when you pass the test!
