Do not understand why people think this is so cool! The ice melting that fast is not a good thing. Some forms of life will suffer greatly without the ice. People can be so clueless just to get a thrill.

Calving of ice in summer is a natural phenomenon and will always happen, global warming or not. And I guess its a spectacular sight.

I think a few people commenting don't realise that it's not all global warming at play. Glacier calving is a natural process. Yes, global warming would affect the rate of calving, but even if there was no global warming they would still calve.

Glaciers have been doing this since the first glacier formed. Calving is not a sign of global warming. The rate at which it happens might be more of a point of argument, but the fact of it is not.

Some calving is part of glacial life cycles but we are losing our glacial ice much too rapidly. Very heartbreaking.
