Good job, I haven't been following the ESC closely for a number of years so I didn't even know the song, but your videos about this year's contest are just so the spirit of ESC that I had to write that silly comment. (I'm hoping for Wndows3.1man to make an entry called No Mules or something like that - and yes, I'm old enough to remember Win3.1, or at least all the geeks who kept promoting that when the rest of us were discussing if Win95 or Win97 were better).

Heavily doubt Switzerland is gonna win but who knows. There is no way Croatia is not even 1 or 2. The odds are too high and unless they fall off a lot I doubt it goes under number 2. Especially now after that semi final performance I don't see Croatia not winning the whole competition

Have you seen wiwibloggs rehearsal reaction video has Finland as a NQ?!! I very much hope they're wrong and the audience poll seems to bear that out so fingers crossed! Also, I might be getting carried away by my son's enthusiasm but I am honestly blown away by Ireland's staging so I think you're right, anything could happen there.

Yes I saw that last night. I think there is more love for Finland than they think! Apparently Finland and Croatia brought the house down last night. Your son and I are so similar. The staging has changed my perception of the song! It’s like something out of a film, especially the camera work!

My son loves the song (I'm making him a crown the witch t shirt for Malmö) but honestly I can't say I *like* it as such, but I do applaud any artist for bringing something different to the Eurovision table. I get a bit concerned that some people have a fairly narrow idea of what Eurovision should be, I like to see it evolve. Also cead mile failte means a hundred thousand welcomes, per my Irish ex-mother-in-law.

Sigh, yes Olly is lovely, why couldn't he have given us a better song? I think if he has the right staging and performance he could still get in the left hand of the score board but I think that's the best we can hope for in a strong year. Maybe top ten if he's particularly good. But a missed opportunity.

You're not wrong about 2 Unlimited. They used a sample of DJ Paul Elstak in No Limit I believe. DJ Paul Elstak also worked on Europapa and was even in the video (he was sitting in the car). This song is an ode to the 90s, when the Netherlands created the genre Happy Hardcore and it's an ode to the parents of Joost. They died when he was 12 and 13, first his dad died of cancer and within that same year his mom died.
