If Colin Firth has tried to distance himself from Mr. Darcy, then he's done it in a very weird way by playing another Mr. Darcy based on the original Mr. Darcy.

Why is the Waltz by Cramer in this book ? - Is it mentioned in the book or is it just as an example of music from the period ?

I came here to see 4. One day I hope to see it in person. ❤

I’m half way through and loving the book, even though I have mixed feelings about retellings; this one feels very much at superior, intelligent and meticulously researched end of a wide-ranging new genre. Jo Baker seems to know and love the whole Austen world and for me it’s working very much as a novel in its own right. I hope I don’t change my mind by the end!

I would love to buy the puzzle, but in a 500 piece version same size, but fewer pieces. 1000 is simply too many pieces for me to attempt. Even with family!

When it comes to books inspired by the stories of Austen, this one is pretty fantastic! A more detailed review by Syrie James can be found on our site at: www.janeausten.co.uk/longbourn-novel-jo-baker-review/
