Just found this video and it's good at explaining things, thanks. But, I don't have the set elevation behaviour in the drop-down list. How can I now set the height for the token when it enters?

Hiring Baileywiki to handle DC20 Foundry Development is the best move couch could have made and I'm so happy to see these updates. As a Foundry DM, I can tell your team knows what they're talking about and even have your finger on the pulse of the community with what features we DMs want like Token Action HUD functionality. Is there a way to make an if then else statement with a filter? I want it to check if an active effect is on the player, but the only option is a filter, so I can only check if it's on and do a thing or check if it's off. I can't check for both, or give it any alternate actions if it fails

I love what I'm seeing so far (Newly introduced to your channel, thanks Coach!). Don't know if this is the place for notes/recommendations, but here goes: 1) Drag and drop is nice, but not intuitive. Leave a note in the "Drop" area saying "Drag Talents here" or something similar. 2) Leave a note saying that you get to select traits at a later stage of character creation. 3) When selecting weapons, armor, and other items, perhaps highlight the ones that a character would normally get or auto-populate them and allow players to switch them out. Watching this video was extremely helpful, hearing all your explanations of how things work, just make sure those explanations are baked into the character creator itself (like when the Martial Expansion shows up, include a note about why it's there). Thanks for all your work on this!

@@wolfthunderspirit2709 It's hard to say date right now. I expect I will release that update in the first half of November. Depending on version you are updating from it might break some things. I try my best to provide migration scripts for newest versions.

That's it, you've now cemented Foundry as my choice for VTT with DC20, the main reason I still used Roll20 for D&D was the charactermancer to easily make characters etc. Awesome work guys 😊😊 If you are able to make it handle homebrew entries on top of the standard then you'll take it to the next level top tier

Awesome! For homebrew, there is a whole automation and configuration toolset, so you can configure your own weapons, spells, skills, and such. You can even share what you design with others through sharing the JSON or through making your own module that others can install.

I think you're referring to Mass Edit scene presets. You have to tie it to a key binding, so check your controls menu for Mass Edit

I have always felt, as a DM of 40+ years, that the player shouldn't need to know the rules of the game in order to play. They should learn about characters, races, classes, abilities, weapons, but they really shouldn't be expected to know how to run the game. As a programmer of nearly 50 years, this is the level of automation I have come to expect when putting a game on a computer. I've got an entire website that automates the roll tables in the D&D DM's Guide. You click a button and you get the answer, no matter how many tables needed to be accessed to get it. This really is impressive. I love the idea that I can give my players the information for character creation, so they can decide what they want their character to be, then either on their own, or in my Session Zero, they can come in and run the Character Creation Wizard, and everyone has a playable character that night. That's pretty much how we did it in Ye Olden Days.

I've been using FVTT for in person sessions even when not using battlemaps just to make the math and HP tracking easier. Looking forward to playing fully online with it too! I'd love to see an action hud feature implemented natively to the system if thats something youd consider. Also, an option to have the roll level calculation happen without having to click would be great! Keep up the amazing work!

Great Video. i was trying to mimic the round fireplace you built, you showed an object called "Firewood Rack Grey A 1x1" , i have the FA asset pack but i can't seem to find this object :( ?? i typed Fire with it almost toward Fuzzy setting, look for Fire, Wood, Rack Tags, i'm not sure where this object is from can you tell me ?

Solid list! One note: It appears that the version number listed in the google sheet for the DFreds module may be inaccurate. When attempting to use that specific module, it throws a bunch of errors and seemingly breaks the entire build -- can't attack or use any action. This could be an isolated thing, or I simply screwed up somewhere, but upgrading to the newer Dfreds (I tried 7.1.1) appears to make everything work again.

Saw this video this morning; followed all the steps. Ran into the same problem. Have spent the whole day trying to figure it out (I didn't get a DFreds error pop or anything) and was just complaining loudly about breaking everything. This fixed it. You are, very genuinely, my hero.

I assume I'd need to save it and use as a tile? I am hoping to be able to make dungeons mid session with multiple levels using the level module + dungeon draw.

DD has a function to save it as an image tile. You can then use that image in any way you would use a tile. But the problem is the resulting tile is large and unwieldy. Unless you have a reason to maintain combat between both levels, you are just going to have a bunch of troubleshooting and performance issues for no good reason. Better to split between multiple scenes.

For the stairs at 30:39, the invisible wall will work I guess but why not just make the drawing match the stairs ? Like 3 grid units instead of 1 ? This would be the obvious correct way ?

Yeah, that might be a better way in this case. Best to test it with tokens beforehand and have the wall trick in your back pocket in case you find players could accidentally do something they shouldnt.

Awesome video. Been looking for a newer up to date one to try this again. One thing, is there a spot to set check/prompt to target for all spell/attacks? My gripe with automation is... I spend more time undoing what automations do, because players change their mind or want to use an effect last minute, than any time I gain for automation. So after years of playing I just went back to using no automation at all beyond the base dnd module. I only use visual mods such as the carousel.

Yes, the most recent version does, however, you can manually install version 5.2.38 to stick with DnD5e v3.x stuff. Hope that helps!

My only recommendation on this is to turn down the volume on the spell effects. It's very hard in some cases to hear you over the effects. Otherwise incredible work as always!

i had most of this up and running, but upgraded my dnd system and its a huge bother downgrading since a lot of the modules have been upgraded as well, i have to patiently wait for midiqol gets op to speed

Yeah fair enough. You *can* manually install the versions listed on the sheet by copying and pasting the manifest urls from the Foundry pages, but it is a bit tedious to do. Hopefully the upgrade from 3.x to 4.x won't take as long as the transition from Foundry v11 to Foundry v12

I would love more Pathfinder stuff on the channel. My group switched to PF2E for our most recent campaign and they are really enjoying the system. It may very well become our primary system going forward, though I will probably bring them back to 5e to see if the new rules do enough to bring us back.

Thanks! Glad that you've been enjoying! For PF2e, I'll have to dive into it further, but it's my understanding that the PF2e system handles a *lot* of the things that 5e needs modules for. The biggest piece to step things up would probably be Automated Automations and the PF2e Animation Macros modules which handle all of the "style" parts of automation here. I'll add this to the "to investigate" list though for sure. We definitely want to discuss and support more systems than just 5e.

Haha, totally understand. This one was a long time coming due to CPR's re-write on top of v12. Big changes can sometimes cause big delays in modules getting up to speed. Hopefully future editions need won't have as long of a wait.

Dungeon Alchemist should sync right up to this. A 3D engine to make 2D maps - just remove that 2D flattening and drop the model into Foundry 3D.

Alas, not that simple. DA models would be way too taxing on systems if dropped directly into Foundry.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here- I'm having a problem where lights placed on lower levels are shining through the roof. If I make the roof layer restrict light, it blocks even ambient light and tokens can't see/switch to darkvision. The level settings all seem to be correct, "don't disable lights" is off, but I've got a very shiny roof no matter what I do. Interestingly, lights aren't bleeding onto other layers, just the roof. I feel like I've missed something terribly obvious but I can't figure out what.

Blocking light at the roof later should be plenty. Have you restricted you light bottom and top elevations, maybe?
