I think it's because back then when she first came her chest voice wasn't as strong or supported in those higher notes. (or belt - though i don't think she actually belts, only pulls up her chest voice as high as possible - also chest voice is the more powerful and metallic voice register) During Imaginaerum however she has built much stronger chest voice. On Amaranth, for instance, during the DPP tour right at the end she doesnt go for the higher melody (on the album version it goes from E5 to a sustained G5) she decides to harmonize instead (a fourth lower from B4 to D5) Notice a change when it comes to the Imaginaerum tour. She starts at E5 and drops to D5. Shes now more comfortable with higher notes as shes built a better higher chest voice. (Anette attemps G5 only once live and fails unfortunateley - though if you watch the perforamce carefully you will see she was sick that day - never have her actually seen coughing on stage) (this doesnt mean G5 is off-limits for her she actually hits it with some G#5 spikes on DPP tour on Meadows of Heaven (2009)) The same could be said about TPATP, she's in her chest voice and moving around C5-D5 with some F5-F#5 Its not the perfect performance i think, in the studio vesrion she uses her head voice- the lighter, softer voice register at the end of the song. When she first came (some of her first concerts; you can watch them here on YTB) she had to fill some pretty deep shoes (after Tarja). She knew her very soft and light head voice whouldnt do it so she relied basically only on her chest voice. The singing was high and made for tarja (even DPP wasnt made for Anette) and she strained and strained her voice so much she actually lost her head voice. In one of her first concerts she realizes it and now with weak head voice the only thing shes left with is to take the chest voice again and adapt a new melody as she would only strain her voice more. In conclusion. The ending of TPATP is sang in her head voice on the album, but she has a weakend head voice due to straining. She chooses to adapt a new melody in chest voice at the end. However, on the imaginaerum tour she's more comfortable with higher chest voice and can use it more freely; coming closer to whats on the album

Oh, hey. KZbin Comments are a thing! Maybe you'll see this less than a year after I reply unlike me. Yes, indeed, I beat this game when I first got it back in '95 or '96. I worked on it off-and-on for a year before I finally declared it "done." (There were some of the training missions I never completed, but I did every story mission.) You're right about it being hard, though. I don't know that I could go through it today like I was able to when I was a kid. Just don't have that time to dedicate to getting good at this sort of sim anymore.
