Du geb ich dir bedingt recht...in der bisher hauptsächlich verwendeten Gattung Corydoras verbleiben allerdings nur noch die meisten Langschnäuzer, die dem Sattelschnäuzer-Typ entsprechen (32 Arten). "C". eversi ist-noch-nicht in der Revision aufgeführt, daher wird die Art noch unter Corydoras geführt. Dicken Gruß aus der Nähe von Kassel

I believe this fish is not Polynemus paradiseus but Polydactylus macrophthalmus... It clearly looks like a different species to the one pictured on your website. I am surprised that Aquarium Glaser, Germany's largest tropical fish transporter, has been misidentified.

Ich würde diese Tiere nicht als Rio Nanay Typ 3 beschreiben. Zwar werden sie auch im Rio Nanayunterlauf gefangen sind aber im oberen Amazonasbecken weiter verbreitet. Ich hätte sie als Silberskalar oder Perlskalar bezeichnet wobei ich aber nicht ganz sicher bin ob es sich wirklich um die Tiere handelt die ich als Wildfang sowohl ais dem rio Nanay als auch ais dem Amazonas bei Leticia in Peru bei mir halte. Wird Zeit das die ganzen Skalare mal einen eigenen Artstatus bekommen damit man weis wovon genau gesprochen wird 😅 Unter der bezeichnung Pterophyllum scalare PERU oder P. sp. Peru habe isch schon 4 verschiedene Skalare bekommen. Der Honigfleckskalare also der klassische Rio Nanay Skalar währe meiner meinung der einzige den ich als Rio nanay benennen würde da dieser meines Wissens nur im Rio Nanay und Rio Itaya system vor kommt. Die silbernen Skalare mit den hübschen Perlmutflecken auf der Brust kommen vermutlich im klar und weisswasser vom Rio Purus aufwärts bis Pucallpa in Peru vor.

Hi, ist es artgerechte eine kleine Gruppe 5-6 Tiere in einem 30L Becken zu halten? 2 Amanogarnelen und 3 Geweihschnecke wohnen bis jetzt darin. Sehr viele Pflanzen.

Vorsicht bei den Pflanzen. Hara jerdoni kann keinen Rückwärtsgang und in sehr dichter Bepflanzung, vor allem Moosen, können die sich verheddern und gehen dann ein. Platz genug ist.

I want to order some for my Altum 220 gallon system, but I'm afraid to pay a lot of money and get ugly brown/green ones, perhaps "grade B" or lower, instead of something like the ones in this video. It would be much easier if they were mostly like those.

The new office ichthyologists impose their criteria on those of the old biologists. They should go look for new species and respect the criteria of other ichthyologists instead of changing names. The name Corydoras is very appropriate for this genus.

We keep these in a temperate water (room temp) tank inside too. They breed readily and are very hardy. Ideally 16-24c so assume the pond is heated in the winter?
